WWE Survivor Series 2011: The Rock Is Quick Fix That Won't Solve WWE's Issues
The WWE is hurting and there is nothing The Rock can do to help.
There is a polarizing sentiment that the WWE is suffering. Many hard-core fans will hold that the best in sports and entertainment is still very good at what it does.
I beg to differ. They are suffering a serious issue that threatens to shun a great deal of mainstream fans forever. There just isn't a worthwhile superstar who can cross the line into other realms of popular culture.

It's time for us to cease with the so what attitude. The fact is, the sport is far more fun when more people care about what happens to it. The storylines have far more weight and gravitas to it.
With The Rock's return, we are reminded of what a true superstar can be, and what they are supposed to act like. They are that perfect blend of character, charisma and power. They polarize and invoke tremendous emotion. Simply put, you give a damn what happens to them.
Since The Rock left, I am still waiting for one like him. They are always right around the corner, but we have been waiting for far too long. John Cena is the assumed face of the WWE, but the reception he gets at huge arenas has me scratching my head and wondering if he is the right choice.
If you are a fan of blips on the screen or a quick movement from the long arm on the hype meter, get ready. This weekend will be a banner weekend for the WWE.
It will only be an appetizer to what should be an equally epic WrestleMania next year. But the WWE can't live off "Boots to Asses" forever. Something must be done during this brief return of The Rock to promote another wrestler.
A torch needs to be passed because The Rock is damn well sure not going to carry it. I have no faith that the WWE has the right plan of attack to use The Rock's popularity to promote the longevity of this magical world.
I hope I am wrong. I hope the next few months deliver another star who can give us another few years of bliss. I just don't see it happening.
