That's another story.
Don't let all the Tebow hoopla we're bound to witness over the next week let you forget about the poor effort turned in by Mark Sanchez.
Based on his skill set and the team around him, Sanchez was worse than Tebow on Thursday night.
Forget about the 252 yards and 24 completions. The interception he threw that Andre Goodman took in for a touchdown simply cannot happen.
As the game progressed, it was clear that the Jets' coaching staff had as little faith in Sanchez as I do. Did he ever look down the field?
Rarely.
Did the Broncos' coaching staff have faith in what they were trying to do with Tim Tebow behind center?
It seemed like it.
The Jets defense was good enough, Sanchez wasn't.
Super Bowl team? A playoff team wins that game with a capable quarterback. Dumping down to backs and tight ends won't get it done. I don't care if you're playing against the Packers or the Broncos, home or away.
He essentially gave Tebow the possibility of leading another fourth-quarter comeback with his errant passes, unconfident decision-making and inability to move the football down the field with the pass.
Tebow's chance should have never been there.
Anyone else feel bad for Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes last night?
I did.
How about the defense, which played fantastic all evening, allowing three points until that final Broncos drive?
Sure, Sanchez has played some decent football this season, but falling short against Tim Tebow is about as shameful as it gets.
