WWE Survivor Series: Counting the Down the Days Until My Visit to MSG

Jonathan BachNov 17, 2011

Before I start, some have asked why I haven't written in about a month. I was involved in a pretty bad car accident. My car was completely destroyed and thankfully no one was hurt. I have been dealing with the effects of a concussion, but it wasn't going to keep me from purchasing tickets to WWE Survivor Series.

To be honest, at first I was thinking about going alone to the event(mainly because not a lot of my friends actually watch wrestling or follow it at all).

But once word got out that The Rock would be returning to the ring, it was hectic. People were asking left and right if I was attending the event. People who never mentioned before that they knew anything about wrestling.

Soon after, I started to realize it was all because of The Rock. The Great One. The People's Champion.

Many people can write on this site and say their opinions about why WWE isn't reaching it's highest potential, but from personal experience and just by observation, they're doing something right.

WWE does swing and miss sometimes when they try to bring back an old face to attract former fans. But they really nailed it with The Rock. MSG was sold out within 90 minutes. People who didn't buy tickets will actually buy this pay-per-view. It's all to see the return of the greatest superstar of our time.

Do I expect The Rock to be in the ring for longer than 5 minutes? No, of course not.

But everyone wants to have those chills you feel when "If you Smell What the Rock is Cooking!!!!!!!" starts screaming through the speakers.

It makes you feel like a true wrestling fan again.

And as much as I hate John Cena's constant title matches and main events, I can't see The Rock involved in a match with any one other than him. Pairing them together and watching them walk down the ramp one by one will be the greatest 4 minutes of WWE we've seen in some time.

And a lot of people know it. I even bought a frame for the ticket.

My trip to Madison Square Garden this Sunday will change the way I see professional wrestling, and I'll have the chance to say I saw The Rock and John Cena team up as they laid the Smackdown on Awesome Truth.
