WWE Survivor Series: Team Orton vs. Team Barrett Will Leave Lasting Impression

The Survivor Series pay-per-view was built around their traditional Survivor Series match. The five-on-five elimination style match is the cornerstone of the annual November event. It’s why the match headlined by Team Orton versus Team Barrett will leave a lasting impression on you. 

It is a shame that the WWE has moved away from their elimination match. Back when the Survivor Series event first started it was great seeing random superstars paired up. However now it’s all about individual matches and tag teams. 

The teams heading into Survivor Series are: 

Team Orton: 

Captain Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Sin Cara and Mason Ryan

vs.

Team Barrett:

Captain Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and Huncio

The elimination match has a lot of individual story lines working together to tie into the match. You have the captains, Randy Orton and Wade Barrett, and their history. At last year’s Survivor Series Orton beat Barrett to retain the WWE World Championship. 

Barrett now needs a break out performance at Survivor Series, as he has been dormant since last year’s event. By dominating Orton, Barrett can get that momentum back that will propel him back to the main event. 

However, Barrett is not the only one with an ax to grind with Orton. You have the Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes who is out for vengeance. Orton is responsible for busting Rhodes’ head open last month. While beating Rhodes at the last pay-per-view, Vengeance. 

Aside from Orton drawing heat from Rhodes and Barrett, you will see the story line continue with the tag team of Swagger and Ziggler going against Ryan and Kingston. These four men have had run-ins with each other on SmackDown and RAW. With Ryan, he has gotten the upper hand on Swagger and Ziggler on multiple occasions. While Ziggler and Swagger have taken down Kingston on more than one occasion. 

Finally, the best highlights will come from the Luchadores, Sin Cara and Huncio. Their fast paced, high flying spots will make you stop what you are doing and pay attention to the match. Both men will not be in the match for very long. However, their time in the match will be what people are talking about after the match. 

Survivor Series is built on The Rock and Cena teaming up against The Miz and R-Truth. As memorable as that match will be, it will not be what you remember from this pay-per-view.  

It will be great to see Orton and Sheamus rally back to win, after being down four to two. The crowd in New York City will love it, you will love it at home and it will be one of those lasting memories in the history of Survivor Series.
