WWE's Santino Marella Has Hit a Wall with His Comedy Character

One thing WWE prides themselves on is providing a good mix of all forms of entertainment. Whether it's comedy, drama or revenge, the WWE portrays them all very well.

With the comedy portion of their shows comes comedy wrestlers. These wrestlers are generally used as either jobbers to get over other talents or they are used strictly in an entertaining way.

One of these wrestlers is Santino Marella. While the man who pulled off the Milan miracle has held gold a few times in WWE, I feel like he has hit the peak of where this character can take him.

Don't get me wring, I love Santino. I think he is one of the harder working guys in WWE because no matter what garbage the writers give him to do he always pulls it off in a convincing and funny way.

I admire the fact that he has not only worked with the character he has been given but that he managed to stay in the spotlight.

Most people who have had a similar role to Santino in the past would have faded way into the background by now, but not Santino.

He has managed to build up quite a following with his gimmick, but I think he has reached the point where he needs to evolve.

He is a good worker who seems to be able to keep himself clean and shows up to every show on time, which in itself is an accomplishment these days in wrestling.

His mic skills are very good considering what he is given to do every week, and I think if it was done right he could be repackaged in a way where he could be both successful and funny.

If Santino is happy doing what he is doing right now then more power to him because he is very good at making people laugh, but if he wants more, then he needs to comes up with a way to get it.

I think the best thing to do at this point would be to write him off TV for a few months so he can come back in a big way. If they simply changed his character in front of our eyes then it would not be believable.

I hope Santino can become more than just a character used for a quick laugh because I truly feel he deserves to find success after all the hard work he has put in with the company.
