NFL Picks Week 10: Predicting Most Electric Divisional Matchups

Ryan RudnanskyNov 9, 2011

Divisional games bring out the best and worst in teams.

Spectacular touchdown catches, bone-crushing hits, screaming coaches and players that go insane.

Ah, yes, there's nothing like a divisional matchup.

Week 10 of the NFL season has some big-time divisional matchups that should prove to be electric. You add in the fact that the teams in these matchups are close in the standings and you have yourself some smashmouth football.

Here are the three most entertaining divisional games of Week 10.

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons shocked the reigning Super Bowl champion Saints last season when they went 13-3 and won the NFC South.

Now, it's the Saints with the upper hand at 6-3, while the 5-3 Falcons try to swing the balance at the Georgia Dome.

The Falcons have been up and down this season, but they have wont their last three games, including against the Detroit Lions.

The Saints have been similarly hard to figure out, with wins against the Bears, Texans and Buccaneers and losses against the Rams and, well, Buccaneers.

Both teams are capable of beating each other. It's just a matter of who comes to play on Sunday.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears

This is a longstanding rivalry, but it takes on a whole meaning than in recent years because both teams are playoff contenders now.

The 6-2 Lions have opened some eyes this season and rebounded against the Denver Broncos in Week 8 after losing to the 49ers and Falcons.

After losing three of their first five games, the Bears have rebounded, winning their last three games, including against the Philadelphia Eagles.

At Soldier Field, I expect the 5-3 Bears to scare the Lions, but ultimately lose the game.

New England Patriots at New York Jets

This is always a ferocious matchup.

You have head coaches Bill Belichick and Rex Ryan, quarterback Tom Brady's scary passing attack and a formidable Jets secondary.

These two teams can't stand each other and they play like it every single time.

Despite both teams having the same 5-3 record, the Patriots hold the edge as the leader in the AFC East because they beat the Jets, 30-21, in Week 5.

At MetLife Stadium, expect it to get hairy and for Ryan to make a prediction before the game.
