WWE News: Chris Jericho Comments on Royal Rumble Return Rumors and WWE Future

When is he coming back? 

It’s the question that WWE fans keep asking about Chris Jericho, but the question that keeps resulting in the same answer: We have no idea if, much less when, Y2J will return to the WWE. 

And Jericho isn’t making it any easier on us. 

Here’s what he recently told TheSuplex.com regarding a rumored return at the 2012 Royal Rumble (courtesy of SEScoops.com):

Well, there’s been rumors that I’m coming back pretty much every week since I left… I still have no plans. I know people get mad at me when I say that. I’ve just been enjoying what I’m doing right now, and if other people don’t understand that I’m sorry. 

"

Of course, Jericho could be playing us here like he’s known to do. But that’s still a bit disappointing, nonetheless. 

It’s probably not as big of a buzz kill as another comment he made, though:

"

“That’s the thing, f I never wrestle again, I’ll have no regrets… I could be done. I know some people don’t like that or understand it. I don’t want the big WrestleMania sendoff with the cheering and the thing, no f—ing way. I just want to disappear and never be seen again.”

Say it ain’t so, Jericho.

While it is undoubtedly Jericho’s decision to decide when he wants to hang up the boots or if he wants to wrestle again at all, I think it’s safe to say that he’ll have millions of disappointed fans if we never see him in a WWE ring again.

Jericho is one of the most complete wrestlers of all-time, and even if he doesn’t want the big sendoff, he deserves to at least end his career in a way that isn’t by a punt from Randy Orton.

Yet, it appears that Jericho doesn’t care if that’s how he goes out.

Touche, Y2J. You’ve done so much for professional wrestling that you should be able to decide how you want to leave the business, and we should accept it.

Just know that if you do come back at some point, we definitely won’t be complaining.
