They say there is no crying in hockey, but if I were the owner of the team that Andrei Nazarov is the coach of in the KHL, I would be crying over the shame this man has brought to my team.
There is no excuse for actions like this, and as a NHL fan I am appalled at the lack of respect the KHL has for the fans and the sport.
Let me step down from my soap box for a moment to tell you that I honestly love these moments.

They have happened on a few very public occasions and they are never good for the image of the sport, but for fans it’s fantastic.
Who doesn’t want to see fans getting too close to athletes and in the heat of battle, an athlete decides to give the fan what they deserve?
As a Philadelphia Flyers fan, we know all too well about that situation.
The NHL isn’t just limited to fans coming after the players, but back in the day, players used to climb into the stands with an alarming frequency.
Just ask the Boston Bruins and the people at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
This coach has to be fired, but you can't blame him for snapping after more than likely being instigated by the fans. Maybe a beer on the head or a sucker punch caught him by surprise, but either way, I would have reacted the same way.
I only fight from afar. It’s the best way to keep from getting punched in the face.
