NFL Power Rankings Week 9: Assessing Which Teams Are Moving Most

Chris TrapassoNov 2, 2011

Over the last couple of weeks, a few teams we thought were elite have plummeted in the NFL power rankings, while others have done an admirable job to move up.

Which teams are they?

San Diego Chargers, Moving Down

Everyone was raving when the Chargers were 4-1, because "they play their best football late in the season."

Maybe they've done so in years past because they knew their playoff lives were on the line.

Ever think of that?

They collapsed in the second half against the Jets in New Jersey, while Philip Rivers had three costly turnovers (two interceptions and a botched snap) against the Chiefs in a losing effort on Monday night.

Where does this team go from here? Where is their Pro-Bowl quarterback?

Dallas Cowboys, Moving Down

The Cowboys are another team that has a very talented quarterback, who can sling it all over the football field, but who also makes that costly mistake at the most inopportune time.

To be fair to Romo, he hasn't been the reason why Dallas has lost their last two games.

Tom Brady was reason one and the defense was reason two. They're a team I truly cannot figure out. Immensely talented, but better at underachieving than anything else.

Get it together, Boys.

Philadelphia Eagles, Moving Up

As long as the Eagles don't turn the ball over, they should be in every game. Their offense is that explosive.

Now that this team has won the turnover battle in a few games, they're getting back on track. Magically, their defense is also playing better. Probably because they're not playing on short fields anymore.

I love how Andy Reid has stuck with LeSean McCoy. Right now, he's the team's best and most consistent offensive player.

Philadelphia, home of the best rushing attack in football. Who would have thought?

Kansas City Chiefs, Moving Up

The Chiefs' four-game winning streak has officially taken them out of the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. Kansas City fans will gladly be done with that. They've seen their team go from AFC West cellar dwellar to on top of the division in a month.

Brandon Flowers is emerging as the league's second best corner behind none other than Darrelle Revis. Both corners shut down Vincent Jackson.

Matt Cassel is improving and Tamba Hali has returned to 2010 form.

A three-team battle for the AFC West crown awaits.
