T.J. McaloonNov 1, 2011

Shaquille O’Neal is always a media lighting rod. He is always great for a quote, an interview or for a great photo opportunity. It’s why, after he retired from a long successful career in the NBA, he will transition into a great career as a talking head about the NBA on television.

In his new book, “Shaq Uncut”, which hits stores, Kindle’s, iPad’s and whatever else you can buy or download books from, on Nov. 15, details every detail of O’Neal’s life in-and-out of the NBA.

He has done it all in his long career. From winning multiple MVP awards to NBA championships all while feuding with coaches and players, it’s all detailed in this new book.

The Kobe Bryant feud will be the selling point for the book. As Shaq goes onto say about his last season with Kobe, while Kobe was going through his Colorado incident:

But did you know that while in college at LSU, Shaq had quite the love interest in actress, Halle Berry. Shaq describes how writing a letter to Berry, got a shocking response from the movie star:

“I remember being in the dorm room one night and we were watching the movie Jungle Fever with Halle Berry in it, and I thought she was so stunning, so I wrote her a letter. I was just kind of kidding around, telling her I was a big fan and I’d love to meet her sometime. The guys totally goofed on me for doing it, but I didn’t care. A few weeks later, no lie, Halle Berry wrote me back. She sent me a signed picture that I still have hanging in my office. Turns out she’s a basketball fan. She wrote, “I’m a big fan of yours, too. I can’t wait until you get to the NBA.”

Just think, we almost had Berry and Shaq starring in movies together. We could have seen Halle co-staring with Shaq in “Kazaam.”

Instead, we get a nice excerpt from a book that is going to raise a lot of eyebrows from Shaq’s illustrious career in the NBA. It will be a New York Times Best Seller, and will just continue to build in the legend that is Shaquille O’Neal.
