WWE News: Has Zack Ryder Been Given a Fair Shot at Stardom?

Zack Ryder probably needs no introduction to any wrestling fan who frequents the Internet.

Especially not after having a weekly youtube show that has been running for a little over half a year.

He did it because he wasn't being noticed by the WWE and was probably on his way to getting fired. Now the question has to be asked, is he being given a fair shot?

He still seems to be booked inconsistently, looking strong some times and weak at others.  

He still has the same goofy over-the-top mannerisms that make it hard to take him seriously.

And he has moments like this.

The answer?

Yes, he is.

Ryder is over with the crowd on the Internet and in stadiums, but putting him on both Smackdown and RAW helps him reach all of the WWE fans who might not have heard of him. Plus it shows the higher-ups that he can handle moving from Internet sensation to main event status.

If he wasn't being given a real run he wouldn't even appear on one show, let alone both.

Part of the other problem is that while his character is funny, it's usually serious characters who get a serious push.

He is a lot like Santino Marella. Both are great wrestlers and both are over with the crowds. However, both aren't serious contenders when it comes to the main event scene.  

They might be able to win secondary belts, but that is going to be the best that they can do.

Still, he could be stronger than he has been shown to be in the past, but like all things that takes time.

Going back to Vengeance, Ziggler did beat Ryder right after being in a tag team match, but he did need Swagger's help to do it.

Ryder was even beaten down that Monday on RAW by Awesome Truth without getting a chance to be in the main event with John Cena.

However, this RAW he won clean over Ziggler.

It seems like each week Ryder is being booked stronger and though it might be a coincidence, it might not.

Someone can't just be put over and booked strong after being made a joke. It takes patience.

And just like Ryder's show it will take a little bit of time and hard work and he'll be on his way to a secondary title.
