WWE News: CM Punk and Chris Jericho Continue To Tease Possible Feud

Chris Jericho hasn’t been with the WWE for a roughly a year now, but when he left the company last fall he was at the peak of his career and was arguably the best overall wrestler in the business.

After Jericho and the WWE parted ways, a new star has stepped his game up and taken over the reigns as wrestling’s total package. That man is CM Punk.

Punk has skyrocketed to the top of the WWE, and the widespread expectation is that his newfound popularity will result in him facing Chris Jericho whenever he returns to the company.

Punk has only added fuel to that fire with some remarks he’s made, including this shot he took at Jericho at Ringside Fest 2011 over the weekend:

Jericho responded to Punk’s diss with the following tweet:

This may wind up meaning absolutely nothing, but I think that it’s rather obvious that both Punk and Jericho are setting up for what could be an epic feud when and if Y2J comes back to the WWE.

Though it’s no guarantee, it’s pretty much expected that Jericho is just biding his time at the moment and will return to the WWE sooner rather than later.

And when he does, the feud that everyone will want to see is Punk vs. Jericho.

These two are among the most complete wrestlers I’ve ever had the privilege of watching. They ooze charisma, they really know how to work the microphone and, perhaps most importantly, they can flat-out go in the ring.

Although Jericho has said time and time again that he has “no plans” to return to the WWE, he’s known for his teases and his ability to work the Internet.

He’ll be back at some point, he’ll face Punk and he’ll put on a feud that should be an absolute classic.

It’s just a matter of time, folks, so let’s try to be patient.
