Michael Vick vs. Tony Romo: Tale of 2 QBs Nobody Wants to Lead Their Team
Michael Vick and Tony Romo, who face each other in the Sunday night game, are easily the two most disappointing and frustrating quarterbacks of the 2011 NFL season.
Before we go any further with that statement though, I think it's important to understand the exact definition of both of those words.
Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines disappointing very simply: failing to meet expectations.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Does that sound familiar, Eagles fans?
The Philadelphia Eagles were deemed as the "dream team" coming into the 2011.
They were able to attract huge free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and traded away backup quarterback Kevin Kolb for another star corner—Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Add to that former starting quarterback Vince Young, ex-Dolphin Ronnie Brown and former Giants' receiver Steve Smith, and you can see where all the hype came from.
There is no doubt that Michael Vick was the centerpiece of the dream team though. His story is both tragic and inspiring. His rise with the Atlanta Falcons and fall due to a dog-fighting scandal is well documented.
It was his inspirational comeback from prison to the NFL that really completed his story though, with his 2010 season may be one of the most explosive and improbable years in NFL history.
That's what makes 2010 so disappointing in regards to Michael Vick.
He came into a year in which his team was pegged as the early-season Super Bowl favorite and absolutely crumbled under the pressure, both literally and figuratively.
His dream team is 2-4 and at the bottom of the NFC East. Vick hasn't been the only problem, but his play has been abysmal this year. While he has gone 123-of-200 passing for 1,573 yards and nine touchdowns, he's also thrown eight interceptions and seemingly gets injured and taken out of the game every week.
Simply put, he's failed to meet expectations.
Webster's dictionary defines frustrating as: tending to produce or characterized by frustration.
Enter Tony Romo, stage left.
To be fair, Romo holds arguably one of the most pressure-packed jobs as the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. The expectations for America's team are always huge, and the quarterback is always going to be scrutinized.
Romo hasn't done anything to help his case though.
There are times when he looks like he could be a star quarterback in the league, but when he goes out and throws multiple interceptions during crucial points in games, well, it's just frustrating.
He's shown us that he has every ability to be "the guy" for Dallas, but sometimes it appears that he's missing that intangible quality that all the great quarterbacks have possessed: the ability to be clutch.
It started with a botched hold in the 2006 playoffs, but has continued all the way through 2011 where he has thrown six interceptions, fumbled the ball three times, and has single-handedly given away at least two games.
For all the good he's shown he's also been horribly bad, and that's what makes him so frustrating.
These two quarterbacks meet up in Week 8 of the NFL season in what is undoubtedly a huge matchup.
This is a tale of two quarterbacks with extreme potential, but also with the extreme ability to disappointing and frustrate. Their abilities have been questioned, their leadership has been scrutinized, and for everything they've done good you could point out two flaws.
That's the life of an NFL quarterback, but even more so in this tale.
The good news is that for all they have faced this season, at the very least it is guaranteed that one of them will win.
