Week 8 Start Em Sit Em: Reggie Wayne and Other WRs You Must Bench
What a difference a quarterback makes. Three usually-reliable fantasy football wide receivers are now Week 8 must-sits just based on who is throwing the passes for their respective teams.
On top of that list is Indianapolis Colts receiver Reggie Wayne. Once an unquestionable every week fantasy start with quarterback Peyton Manning under center, he's practically worthless in standard 10-team leagues in 2011 now that Curtis Painter is the team's quarterback.
Wayne has just 30 receptions for 426 yards and a meager one touchdown so far this season, and in last week's blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints, he caught just three passes for 36 yards. His one touchdown came in his only 100-plus yard performance of the year, in Week 1, and since then has averaged just over 50 yards per game.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
That's a far cry from his 84.7 average yards in 2010, and just like every player on the Colts' offense, is struggling without Manning on the field. This week against the Titans shouldn't prove to be any better for Wayne, especially as the team is looking to rebound from their own rout at the hands of the Houston Texans.
The best you can hope for from the receiver is one breakout performance that provides enough value for you to move him in a trade. Otherwise, he's only going to disappoint you as a starter or take up space on your bench.
St. Louis Rams receiver Brandon Lloyd should have benefited from a change of scenery, but instead he's stuck in fantasy limbo until starting quarterback Sam Bradford returns from his ankle sprain, which isn't likely this week.
Though Lloyd led the Rams in targets with 12 against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7, and caught six of them for 74 yards, the performance is not likely to repeat itself when the Rams face the New Orleans Saints this week.
If he's only catching half of his targeted passes, that means two things: that he's yet to get comfortable in his new offense, regardless of the fact that his former head coach Josh McDaniels runs it, and that backup quarterback A.J. Feeley just isn't accurate.
Lloyd is likely to emerge as a useful fantasy starter down the line, but while he's without Bradford at quarterback he should sit on your bench.
Yet another Brandon is suffering from a shakeup at quarterback—the Miami Dolphins' Brandon Marshall. Already troubled by a number of dropped passes this season, he now has Matt Moore instead of Chad Henne throwing balls to him.
Marshall had six catches for 61 yards in his team's Week 7 loss to the Denver Broncos, and while he was able to get a decent amount of separation from Champ Bailey in that game, he's likely to face even more pressure from New York Giants cornerback Corey Webster this Sunday.
With all those drops, an 0-6 record and that flat offense, Marshall's quickly becoming a fantasy football pariah. Keep him on your bench this week, and like Wayne above, hope that he has a breakout performance that can serve you well in a trade.
