NFL Picks Week 7: Dallas Cowboys and Late Favorites Sure to Cover the Spread
As Sunday's one o'clock games start to come to a close, there are plenty of NFL games still to go in Week 7.
Some of the best teams in the league are still to play and they are ready to run up the score on weaker competition.
Fans looking for some close games might have to wait until next week, as every favorite should be able to cover the spread. Luckily, there will still be a chance to see the best players in the NFL perform at their personal bests.
Steelers (-4) over Cardinals
1 of 4The Steelers still are not back to full strength and the team is getting older, but they still know how to win. The Cardinals, on the other hand, have only one win this season. That win was at home against a rookie quarterback making his first career start, and the win was only by one score.
This will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLIII, but the level of play will not confuse anyone as to what game they are watching. Neither of the teams are playing well right now, but the experience and the toughness of Pittsburgh should be enough to put them over the top.
Cowboys (-14) over Rams
2 of 4The Cowboys need this game. Big D has played a tough schedule so far, and at 2-3 the team does not have much time to lose. Dallas played the Patriots close last week, but once again took a loss.
A home game against the Rams should be just what the doctor ordered to allow a blowout for the first time this season. With every game so far being decided by four points or less, it might be about time for Tony Romo to have a little breathing room.
If Sam Bradford were playing, he might at least be able to put up some points to keep pressure on Dallas. Unfortunately his injury has forced A.J. Feeley into the game, and I would be shocked to see them score double-digits this afternoon.
Packers (-10) over Vikings
3 of 4A rookie quarterback is making his first career start against the defending Super Bowl Champions, and the line is only 10? This one is too easy.
The Packers have allowed a lot of passing yards this season, but there is no reason to expect Christian Ponder to have a good game against a defense that shows many different confusing looks. Besides, Jay Cutler just tore up the Vikings' defense; just imagine what Aaron Rodgers might do.
Raiders (-3) over Chiefs
4 of 4The line opened at six points but dropped to three as many started to question what is going on with the Raiders.
The quarterback situation for Oakland is ugly. The team just traded a first-round draft pick and possibly a second for a player who has not stepped on a football field in 10 months. Carson Palmer may or may not play, but that really will not be important against the Chiefs.
Kansas City gives up almost 120 rushing yards per game, and Oakland is one of the best rushing teams in the NFL. Darren McFadden should get over 30 carries and put the team on his back for a victory.
