Jimmy Graham and the 5 Most Promising Young Playmakers in the NFL
The most amazing part of Jimmy Graham's emergence, besides how he overcame a troubled background, is that he only played in one season of college football at Miami.
Still, Graham has emerged as a matchup nightmare for defenses. He has the speed and receiving ability of a wideout, but he is too big to cover with anyone named Darrelle Revis. Graham is now one of the most important cogs of this new-look New Orleans offense.
Let's take a look at some other promising young playmakers in the NFL.
Kenny Britt
1 of 5For all of his off-the-field and injury issues, Britt has the kind of talent to be a top-5 receiver in the NFL. The Rutgers product still has a lot of time left to get his personal issues straight and be the best he can be. If he can do that, it won't be long before you hear his name mentioned with the Larry Fitzgeralds and Calvin Johnsons of the NFL.
Torrey Smith
2 of 5He has slowed down a bit since his three-touchdown debut against the Rams, but Torrey Smith has a lot of natural ability to stretch the field and take advantage of quarterback Joe Flacco's big arm.
As long as he continues to improve and build a rapport with Flacco, Baltimore may have stumbled on something special in Smith.
Eric Decker
3 of 5Bronco wideout Eric Decker missed most of his rookie season with an injury, but he has played well enough this season to send Brandon Lloyd packing to St. Louis.
For all of the bad personnel moves former coach Josh McDaniels made, drafting Eric Decker may have been the best move during his tenure.
Ndamukong Suh
4 of 5There is now just one interior defensive lineman better than Detroit's Ndamukong Suh, and that is Haloti Ngata. Suh is known for his pass rushing abilities, but he is so aggressive that he tends to get flushed out in the run game.
Once he learns when to "stay home" and gets more disciplined, Suh will be the best defensive lineman in football.
A.J. Green
5 of 5Andy Dalton has had, surprisingly, a terrific rookie so far, and one of the biggest reasons for that is receiver A.J. Green. He is proving why he is the most polished receiver to come out of the draft this year.
Had Carson Palmer knew that he was going to have this guy to throw to, maybe he would have re-considered his (brief) retirement.
