Fantasy Football Week 7 Rankings: Greg Jennings and Top WRs

Ryan PhillipsOct 20, 2011

Last week while playing through a groin injury, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings showed why he's one of the league's best. Despite being hampered, he caught six passes for 82 yards, and was targeted 10 times by quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In Week 7, Jennings and the Packers will go on the road to face the 1-5 Minnesota Vikings, a team that boasts the league's 24th-ranked pass defense, allowing 269.5 yards per game. Rodgers and his receivers should have a field day on the turf at Mall of America Field.

Jennings leads the Packers in receptions (35) and yards (530), and is tied with Jordy Nelson for the lead in touchdowns, with four. The 28-year-old wideout has also been targeted by Rodgers 48 times, which is 13 more than Jermichael Finley, who is second on the team.

Jennings has separated himself as Rodgers' favorite target, and he's a candidate to put up big numbers every week he's in the lineup. This Sunday against the Vikings won't be an exception.

Mike Wallace leads Pittsburgh's receivers in all major statistical categories, and through six games he has 33 receptions for 612 yards and four touchdowns. While he is battling a mild hamstring strain, Wallace is expected to play this weekend against a terrible Arizona Cardinals secondary.

Wallace should put up big numbers against the NFL's 20th-ranked pass defense, and you can bet the Steelers will look to throw a lot early to put Sunday's game away as quickly as possible. Wallace is certainly a top-three option league-wide this week.

Calvin Johnson is easily an MVP candidate, and his campaign for that designation will continue this week, as the Detroit Lions face the struggling Atlanta Falcons. Obviously Johnson is a top play at wide receiver every week, but he just doesn't seem to be slowing down at all.

The Georgia Tech product leads all NFL players with nine touchdowns so far this year, and he also boasts 36 catches for 564 yards (averaging 94 yards per game), despite facing near-constant double teams.

Expect Johnson to have another huge day on Sunday against Atlanta.
