NFL Power Rankings Week 7: Seattle Seahawks and More Mediocre Surprises
In the parity-driven league that is the NFL, mediocre is a word used to describe a lot of teams. Some are just barely better than mediocre, some are just barely worse, but very few teams are either very good or very bad.
Right now, there are 12 teams in the league that sit at either two or three wins. Every team has played five games, some have played six. Regardless of whether or not your bye week has hit, two and three are pretty mediocre numbers.
So, which teams that have that total are surprisingly there? Right now, we're looking at teams that are both surprising, and not so surprising, and also taking a look at how the rest of their season may play out.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Seattle Seahawks
When the season first began, the Seahawks were easily at the bottom of my power rankings. They were beaten by the 49ers in Week 1, which did nothing to bolster them in my eyes.
But that loss doesn't look so bad anymore. Nor does the Week 2 loss to Pittsburgh. Included in the Seahawks' record is a road win against the Giants.
As for how the rest of the season will play out, I am not too optimistic. The schedule gives them no breaks, even if Seattle is a tough place to play. Anything better than 6-10 would be a genuine surprise.
Philadelphia Eagles
And now let's take a look at one of the unpleasant surprises, the 2-4 Dream Team. The Eagles are in the most important week of their season right now, and they're not even playing.
When the Eagles do come back, they will host the Dallas Cowboys in a game that both teams will simply need to win to have any realistic chance at the playoffs.
The recent win against the Redskins was nice because they won, but was otherwise a dismal performance, especially in the second half. As a matter of fact, the Eagles have been bad in the second half all season.
The rest of the 2011 season sets up relatively well for the Eagles. Still, at 2-4, I can't see anything better than 9-7 coming from this team. I doubt that will be good enough to earn a playoff berth.
New York Jets
The Jets' offense has been nonexistent this season. I know that they beat the Dolphins on Monday night, but there isn't really anything there that makes me think that they will even get to the playoffs.
New York's schedule gets no easier from this point on. Their defense is good, but it will need to be a lot better.
Like the Eagles, anything better than 9-7 is a tall order. In reality, I am seeing 8-8, or maybe even 7-9. Rex Ryan has certainly accomplished enough to save his job through this season. But if they miss the playoffs in 2011, they will need to be stellar from the beginning of 2012, or that will be a chaotic season.
