Broncos vs. Dolphins: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More

Eric BowmanOct 19, 2011

The Miami Dolphins look to get their first win on Sunday when they host the Denver Broncos.

Tim Tebow gets his first start of the season for Denver, and it happens to be a game that Miami is honoring his former team, the Florida Gators.

Neither team is playing as well as they thought they would, and a lack of a true leader offensively has been the key problem.

It's not a very intriguing match-up because both Denver and Miami have been less than stellar this season, but with some good story lines, it's still a watchable game.

With that said, let's take a look at some specifics of this Week 7 showdown.

When: Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1:00 p.m. ET

Where: Sun Life Stadium, Miami, FL

Watch: CBS

Listen: KMXA 1090 in Denver, WBGG 970  in Miami

Live Streaming Audio: NFL.com Audio Pass ($29.99 for year, $27.99 team specific, $9.99 a month)

Betting Line

Miami is favored at -2, and the over/under for Sunday's game is set at 43. Take the Broncos and the points here, even though they are on the road with a new starter. Denver is fresh off a bye, and they should win this game, but I would also take the under, as scoring will be limited here.

What's At Stake?

The stakes are very high for the Broncos to succeed with Tebow at the helm, but the Dolphins really need to win in order for head coach Tony Sparano to feel better about his job status.

Well, unless Miami is content with losing to better its chances of landing Andrew Luck in next year's NFL draft.

Fantasy: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em, and Sleeper

Start 'Em: Brandon Marshall

The Dolphins only reliable fantasy player is Marshall, and many were worried he would fall even further into oblivion with Matt Moore as the starter.

However, the two worked together a lot over the bye week, and Marshall brought in over 100 receiving yards on the road against a very talented New York Jets defense. He may not find the end zone all the time, but he is the best player in this game.

Sit 'Em: Reggie Bush

Bush is questionable, but he should play on Sunday afternoon. However, you don't want to start him on your fantasy team because he doesn't get the ball enough. He did an OK job last week, but he's not worthy of being a starting running back because he doesn't score touchdowns.

Sleeper: Tim Tebow

With several top QBs like Tom Brady and Michael Vick on a bye this week, Tebow makes sense as a temporary starter. He may have lost Brandon Lloyd to a trade, but he still has Eric Decker, who is a great deep threat.

Plus, Tebow is very dangerous running the ball, and everybody knows how much he loves to run. It is his safety net after all.

What They're Saying

Miami Dolphins CEO Mike Dee told reporters that the news of Tim Tebow has boosted ticket sales, which shouldn't be a surprise at all. Per Denver Post:

"

More than 10,000 tickets have been sold since Tebow was promoted to the starting job last week, Dee said Wednesday.

"

The Dolphins are honoring the Florida Gators at this game, and with Tebow starting there is bound to be a number of non-Dolphin fans cheering for Denver and Tebow.

Ticket sales are a problem for Denver at home, but now that Tebow is starting, the fans are very excited to see him in action, and finding a ticket will be very hard.

Whether you like the man or not, he's a very popular guy that always draws a crowd. Somebody working for the Dolphins knew that Tebow may or may not start in this game so they scheduled the Florida thing, which would bring Tebow fans whether he was playing or not. Miami just lucked out that he was announced as the starter right before these two met.

Barry Jackson if the Miami Herald is reporting that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is not happy with his head coach.

"

A close associate of Ross said Tuesday that the owner remains “very frustrated” and Sparano’s status would again be subject to re-evaluation if the Dolphins lose at home Sunday to 1-4 Denver.

"

You can't blame Ross or any of the Dolphins' fans for their displeasure over Sparano right now. The Dolphins hired him to clean up the mess that Cam Cameron made in one season, but Sparano has yet to elevate this team to new heights.

Part of the problem is that he has never had a good quarterback, but after going 11-5 his first year as head coach, there were high expectations. Sparano's days are numbered right now, and it won't be long before Miami is on the search for a new head coach.

Key Matchup

The key matchup on Sunday will be the Broncos' secondary vs. Brandon Marshall. The Dolphins top wide-out wanted to play like a monster last week and he did. He didn't score a touchdown, but credit the Jets tough defense for that one.

The Broncos are giving up an average of 262 passing yards per game, and they have allowed four wide-outs to torch them for 100 or more receiving yards. Denver's secondary will key on Marshall, but he's still going to be very hard to stop, especially since he's extremely hungry for a win.

Prediction

The Dolphins will remain winless, but they'll still put up a good fight in this game. I don't expect a high-scoring affair as both teams are better on defense than they are at offense.

There's very few big-time playmakers in this game that continue to put points on the board this season, which is why it will be a brutal game at times. However, it's going to be close throughout, so turning it on in the fourth quarter is the way to go.
