NFL Power Rankings: Miami Dolphins and Teams Sure to Stay in Basement

T.J. McaloonOct 18, 2011

Okay, fans of horrible NFL squads, we are about to enter Week 7 of the NFL season, so your season from hell is almost over. Your savior from Stanford University is on his way (maybe), in the form of Andrew Luck.

So even if you continue to chant "Suck for Luck" at home games and while watching on television, you can take solace in knowing that your team will continue to suck for that quarterback named Luck.

Week 7 puts us almost at the halfway point of the season; here are the teams that will continue to be cellar-dwellers in the NFL.

Miami Dolphins (0-5)

Oh the Dolphins, how you are driving the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft bus. With your new quarterback, Matt Moore, throwing two interceptions, your leading receiver making threats to get kicked out of a game by fighting (and then not living up to his end) and a front office that will get fired at the end of the season, you are the leaders for Andrew Luck.

The Dolphins were only able to muster up six points against the New York Jets yesterday, after having two weeks to prepare for the game. They proved last night that they will have a tough time being in competitive in any of their games remaining on their schedule.

The worst thing the ‘Phins can do now is win games. Their season is over and they need Andrew Luck.

Indianapolis Colts (0-6)

By way of tiebreaker, the Colts are the worst team in football by a half-game. However, the Colts are at least competitive in their games.

Last week against Cincinnati, the Colts came roaring back in the fourth quarter by bringing the game to a three-point difference at 17-20. But a bad turnover by the Colts led to a Bengals touchdown, putting the game away at 17-27.

The Colts will get a win sooner than later, unlike the Dolphins.

St. Louis Rams (0-5)

The Rams have been playing a tough stretch of games against teams like Philadelphia, Baltimore and Green Bay. Now, with the trade for WR Brandon Lloyd from the Denver Broncos, St. Louis gives itself a fighting chance in this NFC West division.

They won’t win this week, as Rams fans should give a week or two before Lloyd can get accustomed to the offense. But, from there, they will win a good number of games down the home stretch of their season.

Three teams all with zero wins on the season. For Indianapolis and St. Louis, their fans should expect to get their first win soon. As for the Dolphins, who knows when that will happen?.
