Week 7 Waiver Wire: Andy Dalton and 3 Players You Must Add

John RozumOct 17, 2011

With injuries and players underperforming each season in pro football, making moves to constantly keep your team at its best is crucial.

That being said, here are three players to add this week that will surely be of help as the fantasy football season continues.

Andy Dalton: QB, Bengals

Of the three players that are being mentioned, Cincinnati's Andy Dalton is the best option because frankly, he's played the best thus far.

Now he's obviously not going to be your weekly starter, but he can provide as a solid No. 2 QB as he's thrown seven TDs. He does have five picks, but has compiled just over 1,300 yards.

He also has rookie WR A.J. Green out wide, TE Jermaine Gresham, and a solid No. 2 receiver in Jerome Simpson.

Therefore, if you need a backup QB, Dalton is a solid option.

Preston Parker: WR, Buccaneers

Tampa's Preston Parker is only No. 4 on the team with 19 receptions, but he leads the Bucs with 268 receiving yards and two TDs.

He's also converted 12 first downs and is fourth on the team with 27 targets.

Obviously Parker's not going to be your No. 1 or No. 2 WR, but he can be a decent third option or flex option if need be.

Otherwise he can stay on the bench until Tampa Bay improves their passing offense—which they will—and you should pick him up for "just-in-case" purposes. Never hurts to have depth.

Blaine Gabbert: QB, Jaguars

Jacksonville rookie QB Blaine Gabbert isn't going to be your first choice when starting a QB, of course, but after replacing Luke McCown, the rook has come in and done a fine job.

After playing in the last five games (starting four of them), Gabbert has thrown for 717 yards, four TDs and only two picks.

It definitely hurts that he doesn't have really any solid receiving targets, but as long as RB Maurice Jones-Drew can be effective, then Gabbert's production will be respectable.

If you need a backup QB, he's not a bad choice, but make sure you weight your options beforehand.
