NFL Week 6: Top Plays from Sunday's Early Games
The early games of Week 6 in the NFL have been full of excitement and big plays. Jordy Nelson set off some huge fireworks as he took a 93-yard TD pass to the house. Cam Newton gave his arm a rest and let his legs carry him to the end zone on a beautiful 14-yard run for a score. Brandon Pettigrew made a gorgeous catch in traffic for the Lions as well.

Jordy Nelson's 93-Yard TD Reception
1 of 9Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers sets this play up with a beautiful pump fake that totally befuddles the St. Louis secondary. Jordy Nelson added further insult to injury by splitting the hapless defenders and taking it the rest of the way. A truly shameful performance by the Rams defenders here.
Cam Newton Scrambles for 14-Yard TD
2 of 9Cam Newton has made major waves thus far this season with his arm, putting up obscene passing numbers far sooner than any rookie QB should. However, on this play, Newton reminds everyone of what made him so great in college, taking it into the end zone by himself on this score. Unfortunately, the losses just keep coming for Newton and the Panthers.
Fred Jackson Takes Off for an 80-Yard Score
3 of 9Fred Jackson ran practically untouched through the line of scrimmage and made traffic cones out of the New York secondary. Deon Grant really steals this highlight with his truly pathetic attempt to come up and make a play on Jackson. I'm sure he will be hearing it in the film room this week.
Brandon Pettigrew Makes a Beastly TD Catch in Traffic
4 of 9The Detroit Lions are the surprise story of the 2011 season so far. Matt Stafford and Megatron, along with their fearsome defensive line have stolen all of the buzz, but Brandon Pettigrew is doing some great work this season as well. Here, he goes up between two defenders and does his best Calvin Johnson impression in the end zone.
Carlos Dunlap Rumbles for a 35-Yard Fumble Return TD
5 of 9Fewer things in football bring me greater joy than a big man running. Unfortunately, Carlos Dunlap showed a disappointingly high level of athleticism on this play. Nonetheless, that's a great play by a guy who doesn't get to carry the ball often.
David Akers Drills a 55-Yard FG as the First Half Ends
6 of 9David Akers has made a lot of big kicks in his career. With time running out in the first half against Detroit, Akers broke out his big boot and blasted a 55-yard field goal to give the 49ers a halftime lead.
Dallas Clark Only Needs One Hand to Score 6
7 of 9Dallas Clark has some of the best hands of any tight end in the NFL. They were certainly on display here, as Clark makes the one-handed grab look really routine in the back of the end zone.
Naaman Roosevelt Blazes through the Secondary for a 60-Yard TD
8 of 9Naaman Roosevelt is apparently a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills. Go figure. The Bills might want to think about letting him get a little more playing time after seeing him speed through the Giants secondary. On a related note, "speeding through the Giants secondary" was a common occurrence today.
Corey Peters Shows Off His Silky Hands
9 of 9DT Corey Peters gave his best audition for the jumbo goal line package on this play. Peters does a great job of blowing up the screen pass and snatching down the INT with one hand. Shame on Carolina for not letting him rumble for a few yards before taking him down.
