Big Blue Madness 2011 Video: Watch John Calipari Raise Kentucky's Final 4 Banner

The Kentucky Wildcats can finally close the book on an incredible 2010-2011 season. On Friday night, Kentucky hung their 2011 Final Four banner at Rupp Arena. The banner represents Kentucky's 14th Final Four appearance, and is on full display right next to the team's 1998 National Championship banner.

As you can assume, head coach John Calipari brought down the house with a magnificent speech before the banner was lifted. He focused greatly on what he referred to as the "Kentucky effect."

"They do this because there's a sense of, ‘Wow, this is big, and I hope I'm up for it,” Calipari said. “And that's why I think the guys perform. They go farther than people think and they go to the league and they do better than people think. It's kind of this whole environment, I call it The Kentucky Effect, just kind of does it to you."

He talked about how the team is setting the bar, and how they are ahead of the trend. He even went as far as to refer to his team as a needle.

"Tonight, we feel the Kentucky effect in full force as we once again redefine college basketball," he said. "Our potential is limitless. We do more than move the needle. We are the needle."

Calipari is certainly a confident man, but he should be with the talent he has on this team.

They landed four elite freshman in their 2011 incoming class. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Anthony Davis, Marquis Teague and Kyle Wiltjer were all highly touted recruits, and all landed in Kentucky with Calipari.

The talent this team has is through the roof, as they join senior Darius Miller and sophomore Doron Lamb.

The WIldcats will easily roll through the SEC this year, and will be hoping to haul in another National Championship, but it won't be easy with the experienced North Carolina Tar Heels seeking another title as well.
