WWE News: Jim Ross Reacts to Firing; Claims He Was "Blindsided"
Apparently, no one backstage at Monday night's RAW had any idea that good ol' JR's days were numbered.
This is according to twnpnews.com:
"The firing of Jim Ross by John Laurinaitis on last night's RAW Supershow was not in the final script and most people backstage had no idea that it was going to happen.
It's also believed Ross didn't know about the angle, either. It was noted that JR's wife could be seen at ringside, looking excited as he entered the ring for the segment.

Ross later took to his Twitter to comment and field some questions.
Ross tweeted:
"@jrsbbq: Going home early tonite. Thx to all who appreciated my work. It was fun...I may have lost my 'spot' but I'll never lose my dignity. Proud of my body of work & WWE Universe.
"
Later Ross responded to several questions and comments:
"@jrsbbq: I wasn't speechless after being fired. I simply chose not to speak...for the record...I'm amazed & grateful @ the support all of you have given me tonite. I'm proud of my on air contributions at WWE. More proud of ur support.
"
As mentioned earlier, Ross' wife was ringside. Ross stated that "It was embarrassing for her as we were blindsided."
On a lighter note, Paul Heyman weighed in on the firing via Twitter:
"@heymanhustle: I think @JRsBBQ has officially been fired more times from WWE (WWF/WWWF/ etc) than Captain Lou Albano! ...Am I the only authority figure in WWE who never fired @JRsBBQ? WTF? I even got my ass kicked by him!"
Obviously, when you go to JR's Twitter, it is apparent that he is with the WWE in some capacity. However, it's just a shame that he continues to get publicly "fired" and never really gets a proper sendoff from the announce booth.
Hopefully, one of these days he will get his just due from the announce booth.
