Tim Tebow: Starting Popular QB Is a Win-Win for Denver Broncos and John Fox
Tim Tebow has officially been named the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos, and no matter how he does this season, it's a win-win for the team and for John Fox.
Twitter blew up when the news about Tebow broke, and he'll more than likely be trending all day.

My favorite tweet, though, came from FOX Sports' Jay Glazer.
Was the exclamation point really needed? No, but it shows just how much everyone—even the media—is excited to see what Tebow can do as the starter.
People either love or hate Tebow, and now that he's the starter, a ton of people are going to root for him to fail. There will always be haters in life, but that isn't going to affect Tebow's play as the starter.
Whether he succeeds or fails, people are going to talk about Tim Tebow, and that's why everyone is pumped to see him as the starter.
Broncos' head coach John Fox really had no choice but to start Tebow on Sunday, replacing Kyle Orton after the first half. Tebow almost led the Broncos to a comeback win, but fans didn't care, because they finally got what they wanted.
If Tebow had done horrible last Sunday, then Fox wouldn't be forced to start him. Since that didn't happen and the Broncos have a bye this week, Tebow jumps up on the depth chart.
Whatever happens the rest of the season, Fox wins.
The fans desperately wanted Tebow to start—so much so that they even had a plan to buy billboards to express their desire for Tebow.
If Tebow does brilliantly and saves the Broncos' season, then Fox is a winner. Yes, people will cry that he should've started from the beginning—but remember, the NFL lockout limited Fox's time with the Broncos before they had to start the season, and Tebow struggled early on.
You cannot deny that Tebow had a rough training camp, and he didn't excel in the preseason as much as he needed to. That's the reason Fox went with Orton—he's got the experience in the NFL and gave the Broncos the best chance to win.
Orton isn't the best quarterback out there, but Fox had to go with him in Game 1 because (before the season started) he showed he was the better quarterback. As we know now, Orton flopped because of injuries to key players and the fact that he had very little talent around him to begin with.
And if Tebow fails big time as the Broncos' starting quarterback the rest of this season, Fox is also a winner.
The fans begged and pleaded for Tebow, and they will be the ones that look like fools if Tebow is a bust.
Fox's job security is safe no matter what happens the rest of the year, because he is the right coach for this team.
He inherited a team that Josh McDaniels tore apart, and the lockout prevented him from truly getting to know and work with his team. It's a tough spot to be in, and he knows he's headed for a top draft pick in 2012.
Denver's defense is just atrocious, so it really doesn't matter who is playing quarterback. They're going to give up a lot of points.
NFL reporter Jason LaCanfora tweeted exactly what the Broncos are thinking right now.
Fox will learn a lot about this team over the coming weeks, and perhaps they can rally around Tebow and win some games.
However, Tebow isn't going to lead this team to the playoffs, and he's not going to be elite. Remember that Fox and Elway weren't the guys that picked Tebow, and if he fails in the slightest bit, they're going to look elsewhere for a quarterback.
Plus, everybody knows Elway really wants his Stanford boy Andrew Luck, which could be the reason they went with Tebow. Perhaps they feel he will be terrible and help better their chances in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.
Starting Tebow bodes well for the Broncos because it appears the players play better around him, and we all know how much the fans wanted him as the starter. Broncos' fans didn't need any more motivation to show up and cheer on their team, but now they have it.
In the end, this is a win-win for Fox because he'll still have his job, and he'll either prove the fans wrong or have a good starting quarterback to build off of.
With how bad the Broncos defense is, though, it's tough to say if Tebow will be successful as the starter.
We'll see in two weeks, when the Broncos play the winless Dolphins in Miami.
