NFL Power Rankings: Pittsburgh Steelers and 4 Biggest Roller Coaster Teams
Being a roller coaster team can get really frustrating for the team's fans and the organization as a whole.
However, it's definitely better than having a terrible season and not coming close to the playoffs, which is one thing that the following four teams have in common.
Sure, it's early in the year and there's a lot of football left to be played, but we can already see some teams who have a chance as well as ones who don't.

As for these roller coaster teams, hope remains alive.
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2)
During the Ben Roethlisberger era the Pittsburgh Steelers have a knack for disappointment the season following a Super Bowl appearance.
After winning the Lombardi Trophy in 2005, they missed the playoffs in 2006. The same thing happened after Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl in 2008; the Steel Curtain missed the postseason in 2009.
All that said, Blitzburgh, despite being 3-2, has played inconsistently this season. Although the Steelers are never out of a playoff race early, it's going to take a lot more to get in this season with the Bengals, Raiders, and Bills all on the rise.
New York Giants (3-2)
Apparently the New York Giants don't like winning at home unless it's against a bad team like the Rams, because losing to Seattle (despite their solid defense) is unacceptable after two straight road wins.
The identity of this Giants team still remains in question after five games. For the sake of Giants fans, hopefully DE Justin Tuck gets healthy sooner rather than later, that way he and Osi Umenyiora can give New York a pass rush.
When Michael Strahan was around, that was the Giants' identity—getting sacks and forcing pressure on the quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys (2-2)
The Week 1 loss against the Jets was tough to swallow, but Dallas proved their worth in the comeback win over San Fran and then the Monday night win over then undefeated Washington.
But it all went back to square one after blowing a 27-3 lead at home against the Detroit Lions and Cowboys' fans as well as NFL fans in general are left bewildered.
Perhaps the bye week came at the right time and head coach Jason Garrett can fix the inconsistency that has plagued Big D since Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith all retired.
Luckily the NFC East is wide open, but only one playoff team is coming from that division.
The time in Dallas for QB Tony Romo and the 'Boys is now.
Cincinnati Bengals (3-2)
The Bengals have a top-five pass and a top-10 rush defense, but because of their young and developing offense, Cincy has wins over Cleveland, Jacksonville, and Buffalo, but losses to Denver and San Francisco.
As crazy as it sounds, the Bengals are on the rise but are doing it at an inconsistent rate.
If their offense can just become slightly more consistent Cincinnati would be a very strong team. Until then, the defense is going to carry the load.
Unlike these other teams though, it's still uncertain as to who the Bengals really are.
After their bye the Bengals begin a six game AFC stretch that includes four straight division games, so we'll see how quickly Cincy has matured during that stint.
