Tim Tebow: Why John Fox Shouldn't Wait to Name Tebow as Broncos Starting QB
Yogi Berra once said, "When you come to a fork in the road—take it."
John Fox and the Denver Bronco organization are staring at that proverbial fork in the road.
So what's it gonna be?

More of the Kyle Orton era that has taken the Broncos to a lofty 1-4 record, or is now the time to find out once and for all if Tim Tebow is Denver's future?
Big fork in the road.
Here's Fox's fork:
That's the Denver Dilemma, as voiced by Fox, isn't it?
John Fox is not sure.
Makes you wonder how not sure John Elway might be, sitting there in the GM's high chair. What's it gonna be, John? Or should we say, who's it gonna be?
Monday is the day when coaches normally stare at the game video. When Fox ganders a look at the greatness that was Orton in the loss to San Diego, can he possibly stun everyone in the Mile High City and go back to the $9 million mistake?
Here's where the fork in the road come into play.
The Denver organization needs to decide what to do with Tim Tebow. The organization needs to evaluate Tim Tebow and give him a fair evaluation, and fair would certainly be the next 11 games.
Face it, the Broncos are 1-4 and there are two signs at that fork in the road:
One sign: This Way To Hell In a Handbasket.
Other sign: This Way To Decide If Tebow Is a Long-Term Bronco.
As Yogi said, now that the Broncos are at the fork, they need to take it and this isn't that hard a decision is it? Is it as hard as John Fox is making it out to be?
This is the same John Fox who stuck with Jake Delhomme until it was clearly evident that Jake needed to be back on the bayou.
The one good thing that did come out of that fourth loss Sunday is that Tebow gave his team a pulse, a faint heartbeat, where Orton left it for dead and/or, at best, comatose.
This bye week is the perfect scenario for the switch to Tebow. SOMEONE has to take the reps with the first team this week, assuming the Broncos will practice, and goodness knows they need to practice. They can start grooming Tebow for the next game and that would be against the seemingly hapless Miami Dolphins.
If you're Tim Tebow and you're looking to make a splash, hapless is a good thing, and the Dolphins may be exactly what the doctor ordered. No matter how clueless you may think John Fox is, Tony Sparano in Miami is in a worse place.
Miami has already lost its starting quarterback for the season, and now Denver needs to put the hat on Tebow.
Last we checked, two weeks of reps with the first unit would be far better than one week of reps with the first unit.
It doesn't matter if Fox tells the media, the fans or whoever else is interested, that Tebow is the new starter. He doesn't need to tell us that today, or tomorrow or the next day.
The only person he needs to tell is Tebow, and in the process, he should give the bad news to the $9 million mistake. Those big game checks are plenty of consolation for Orton, who is the poster boy for the Peter Principal.
Fox can just keep it a secret for as long as he wants. He just needs to tell Tebow, and he needs to have him in there at Wednesday's practice.
Fox, Elway and the Broncos have come to a major fork in the road.
They need to take it.
