WWE: 7 Ways Christian Can Return to Main Event Level on SmackDown

Daniel MasseyOct 7, 2011

Christian seems to have removed himself from the main event of SmackDown over recent weeks.

There are a couple of reasons for this, but the point is, how can Christian breach that main event scene once again?

Christian is too good a wrestler to be left out and sidelined.

I have come up with seven ways in which Captain Charisma can once again become relevant on the WWE’s B-Show.

Enjoy!

Removing Himself from the "Conspiracy" Storyline

1 of 7

This is one of the main points that have ripped Christian away from the main event.

This is a big storyline, but while he is involved in it, he is merely another moaner who walked out on Triple H.

The people who are being remembered are those who stayed put—John Cena, Randy Orton, Big Show, CM Punk and Sheamus.

Though you may say it is because they are all faces, I do believe that the good faction could use some heels to even things out a bit and Christian is the perfect candidate.

Faces walked out, so why wouldn’t some heels stay put?

A Betrayal at Survivor Series 2011

If he does not remove himself from the "conspiracy" storyline, this is an alternate option for Captain Charisma.

I’m thinking back to the InVasion PPV when I mention this point.

There were many betrayals between WWF and WCW/ECW and it made for extremely exciting viewing.

If Christian is to make a name for himself in this storyline and be one of the superstars people are talking about, he must make a face turn and betray his team at Survivor Series.

By helping the faces win, he would immediately get grief from all of the superstars that walked out on Triple H, and he would become extremely relevant again.

Stop Moaning About the World Heavyweight Championship

“One more match! One more match! One more match!”

No Christian, not one more match—become a No. 1 contender and then contend for the title again. Stop moaning about getting another title shot.

Christian constantly banging on about how he has been wronged was slightly entertaining at first, but now it is just irritating and makes me want to change the channel.

My point is, moaning about not having another title shot is actually keeping him away from the main event and making people bored of him.

I don’t see any depth to his character because all he does is whine whenever there is a figure of authority in the ring or somebody else takes it upon themselves to try and get a title shot.

I have ended up viewing his character as an annoying fly that won’t go away.

Stop Moaning, Full Stop

4 of 7

He doesn’t just moan about Championships my friends, oh no, he also moans about Triple H, the state of the WWE and Teddy Long.

I’m moaning about him because he moans so much.

He needs to give it a rest, shake his head and get back into the main event as fast as he can, because whining and isn’t going to do it for him.

This point links to the conspiracy theory points I made at the start of the slideshow.

Triple H hasn’t even really affected him recently.

The only reason he has made Christian’s life hard is because he was moaning instead of just getting on with it. Some people just never learn.

Leading a Stable

My answer to every veteran in trouble.

Lead a stable!

It’s such a flawless plan though.

Leaders of stables are successful 99% of the time and most end up holding the top title in the business.

Therefore, if Christian leads a stable, he should be able to slip back into the main event scene.

With the help of two or more lackeys, he could become a top superstar once again.

Christian Coalition II anyone?

Continuing His Feud with Sheamus

6 of 7

I recently wrote two articles on the Celtic Warrior, merely expressing my delight at his recent push and how he can become a top guy on SmackDown.

With Sheamus rocketing to the top, Christian would be wise to keep his feud with the fella.

Work the Mid-Card Again

7 of 7

The final option available to Christian is working the mid-card and possibly even winning the Intercontinental Championship before vying for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Cody Rhodes is bringing more and more prestige to the Intercontinental Championship as time goes on. Using it’s classic design, a feud with Christian would be amazing.

I am aware that Christian has pretty much been in this position for years on end, but a decent long feud with Cody Rhodes could put him on the main event map again.

Think of all the great Intercontinental Championship matches of the past. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon, the feuds with The Rock and Triple H, Jericho’s feud with Chris Benoit and his record amount of reigns.

I believe we are in for a good couple of years regarding the Championship and if Christian is involved, it could propel him to a permanent main event spot.
