Fantasy Football Week 4 Start 'Em Sit 'Em: Eli Manning and 3 QBs You Must Start

Mike ChiariJun 2, 2018

In what has become an extremely pass-heavy league, quarterback stats are simply through the roof this season. This means that there is more depth of scoring than ever at the position in terms of fantasy. You can essentially start one of NFL's top 20 signal callers in any given week and get a great performance.

While getting an elite, consistent quarterback can certainly be to your advantage, waiting on a quarterback and filling other positions is a strategy that would seem to be working well to this point. Here are three mid-tier quarterback options who are definitely worth a start this week provided you don't already have a must-start QB in front of them.

Matt Hasselbeck
- Tennessee Titans

As the Seattle Seahawks' quarterback last season, Matt Hasselbeck looked to be old, injury prone and on his last legs. After an incredible postseason performance against the New Orleans Saints, however, the Tennessee Titans took a chance on him as their starter this season.

The decision has certainly paid big dividends as he has led the Titans to a 2-1 record, has two 300-yard games and is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. Due to the early-season struggles of running back Chris Johnson, Hasselbeck and the Titans have been airing it out with great success.

The season-ending injury may slow Hasselbeck down a bit, but I would expect the Cleveland Browns to stack the box and dare Hasselbeck to beat them. He will certainly oblige, in my opinion, and have another monster game.

Ryan Fitzpatrick - Buffalo Bills

After beating the New England Patriots last week, the Buffalo Bills appear to be for real, and so is quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Harvard grad was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month and is among the NFL's leading MVP candidates in the early going.

Fitzpatrick's numbers have been excellent in head coach Chan Gailey's spread offense as he has passed for 841 yards and nine touchdowns in three games. Despite Buffalo's group of relatively unknown receivers, Fitzpatrick hasn't shown any signs that he might be slowing down.

With the way the Bills throw the ball, Fitzpatrick is beginning to become matchup proof in that he can produce against any defense. The Cincinnati Bengals have held up against the pass so far this season, but they have yet to see an offense as explosive as Buffalo's or a quarterback as skilled as Fitzpatrick.

Eli Manning
- New York Giants

Few quarterbacks have a bigger Jekyll-and-Hyde complex than the New York Giants' Eli Manning. Peyton's brother is equally capable of throwing four touchdowns in a week as he is of throwing four interceptions in a week.

The good Eli showed up last week against the Philadelphia Eagles as he turned in a flawless 254-yard, four touchdown performance against the "Dream Team." The Giant offense is very balanced, so Manning isn't going to have too many monster days in terms of yardage, but he's a legitimate 30-touchdown guy.

He has an excellent matchup to exploit on Sunday in the form of the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards have been torched by lesser quarterbacks like Cam Newton and Rex Grossman this season, so it stands to reason that Eli should have a huge game. Even if Mario Manningham is out again, Manning has enough weapons in Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz to dominate.
