Felix Jones Injury: Updates on Dallas Cowboys RB's Week 4 Status & Fantasy Value
After a huge game against the Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones does not appear to be having any issues after being on the receiving end of a hard hit by Redskins LB Brian Orakpo in the fourth quarter of Monday's victory.
Update: Sunday, Oct. 2 at 5:00 p.m. EDT
Jones slowed down a little bit in the second half, carrying only six more times and catching three more passes. He wasn't effected in any noticeable way by the injury, but did display a lack of football knowledge when he ran out of bounds on 4th-and-20 at the end of Dallas' collapse.

Jones is playing and is the clear No. 1 option in the Cowboys' rushing attack. He has 10 carries for 37 yards and two receptions for zero yards.
The injury is obviously not slowing him down as he had a very nice 19-yard run.

Jones is prepared to face a 'very tough' Detroit defense.
""Not just the front four," Jones said. "Their whole defense is tough. Those guys are fast, very explosive, everybody is surrounding the ball. We definitely have to be ready for this upcoming Sunday, definitely be prepared for that."

The Dallas Cowboys are looking to start running the ball in a more efficient way, and they need starting running back Felix Jones to not let the shoulder injury that has bother him when he gets on the field.
The Dallas Cowboys official twitter feed is reporting about Felix Jones’ availability for Sunday’s game:
Besides being very disappointed by his output this season if you drafted him in your fantasy league, the injury concerns have made him a must bench until he shows he is worth a start. Unless you have a better option, Jones needs to ride the pine.
According to Todd Archer and ESPN Dallas, Jones isn't expected to miss any practice time this week.
"Felix Jones is also expected to practice after aggravating his dislocated right shoulder in the fourth quarter against the Redskins," Archer reports.
Jones finally emerged as a viable fantasy option, running for 115 yards on just 14 carries, and adding 40 yards on three catches.
This was the type of performance that fantasy owners were looking for once the team parted ways with Marion Barber.
Through the first two weeks, Jones disappointed and looked like a potential fantasy bust.
Still, Jones has mostly hit-or-miss potential at this point; that is going to continue for the remainder of the season.
The Redskins have always struggled to contain Jones, so the performance shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise and owners put too much stock in his Week 3 performance.
The problem with Jones is that he has been both injury-prone and inconsistent for the larger part of his career. At some point in the season, third-round pick DeMarco Murray will begin to gain more carries, as the Cowboys will look to keep Jones fresh for the late-season stretch, they hope.
Felix Jones will continue to give fantasy owners headaches for the rest of the year, but remains one of the best flex players in the game.
