NFL Trade Deadline: Oakland Raiders Won't Be Landing QB in Deadline Deal
Of all the trade deadlines in professional sports, the least exciting resides in the NFL.
Case in point is the current situation in Oakland.
The Raiders starting QB Jason Campbell is out for at least a month and Oakland has a grand total of two days to scramble and find his replacement before the 4:00 pm EST deadline on Tuesday.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
No one can make a deal for a respectable QB in that short amount of time.
The Raiders are trying their hardest and immediately placed a call into the Cincinnati Bengals to try and pry Carson Palmer out of retirement according to Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole.
Yet like every other Palmer trade rumor, the Bengals aren’t budging on any demands. It doesn’t help that the Raiders are without picks in the second, third and fourth-rounds of the 2012 draft.
If this was the NBA or MLB, maybe Cincinnati could sent scouts to watch the next couple of games any maybe find a couple of players they like instead of having to get picks.
Instead, the Raiders are forced to look elsewhere.
Broncos newly crowned backup Kyle Orton is certainly available via trade, but his $6 million remaining salary would put Oakland over the cap. David Garrard would be the free agent of choice, but he just had back surgery and won’t be ready anytime soon.
Add it up and the Raiders are forced to try out guys like Trent Edwards and Luke McCown. It’s either that or stick with Kyle Boller and Terrelle Pryor.
Yikes.
It’s a shame that a 4-2 team with a lot of momentum was dealt such a painful blow and the trade deadline does them no favors.
Now Oakland is desperate.
No Palmer, no Garrard, no Orton… Maybe they can get JaMarcus Russell out of retirement.
