Oakland Raiders: If Transitivity Works, Then Raiders Will Defeat the Patriots

Honor Warren Wells TheTorchJun 7, 2018

Let’s stretch your mind a little to establish a framework for the discussion of the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots game.

There is a law of transitivity, which says that if a is greater than b, and b is greater than c, than a is greater than c.

Now, let’s apply that reasoning to the Oakland Raiders and their game with the New England Patriots.

The New England Patriots played the Jets three times in 2010. First, they lost a game, then won a game, then lost the game in the 2010 playoffs, scoring 14-3.

In a powerful encounter in Week 3 (2011) with the New York Jets, the Oakland Raiders defeated the Jets, scoring 34-24.

In a narrow context and using the results in Week 3, we could say that since the Oakland Raiders defeated the New York Jets and the New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots, then it is likely that in 2011, the Oakland Raiders will defeat the New England Patriots.

I know some of you are saying, “They said it couldn’t be done.” My claim is that there is a strong possibility that the Raiders can defeat the Patriots, if they maintain the course they started on Sept. 25, 2011.

Let's challenge the Oakland Raiders to make the law of transitivity work in Week 4, when they encounter a team that went to the playoffs in 2010, and had a 14-2 in that year.

Go Raiders! Let the law of transitivity be invoked in Week 4.
