NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Rating All 32 Teams
After a wild Week 3 in the National Football League, it's time to sift through the teams and make some Power Rankings!
While some teams have separated themselves from the pack, there are others that have simply looked like college teams compared to their peers. And then there are about 20 teams in the middle that look like they could go either way as the season goes on.
Well here it goes, here's the way that all 32 teams look after three weeks of football.
32. Kansas City Chiefs
1 of 32After losing Jamaal Charles for the year, we knew that the Chiefs would struggle, but when you are getting outscored by 82 points through only three games, saying the Chiefs are "struggling" is being quite generous.
31. St. Louis Rams
2 of 32See previous slide, but instead of 82 points, the Rams have only been outscored by 60 points. So, basically I'm saying the Rams are 22 points better than last place!
30. Minnesota Vikings
3 of 32Well...they almost beat the Vikings!
29. Indianapolis Colts
4 of 32The Colts played valiantly against the Steelers, but couldn't quite seal the deal against the Steelers. Look on the bright side Colts fans, Andrew Luck would be a pretty good successor to Peyton Manning don't you think?
28. Miami Dolphins
5 of 32Starting the season off by losing to the Patriots and the Texans can't be good for team morale, but losing to the Browns is a downright killer.
27. Cincinnati Bengals
6 of 32A loss is a loss, but seriously who loses 13-8?
26. Jacksonville Jaguars
7 of 32The Jaguars can continue to run the ball well all they want, but if they can only throw the ball for 125 yards per game they aren't going to beat many teams.
25. Seattle Seahawks
8 of 32If the Seahawks want to compete this season, their offense has to improve. Through three games, the Seahawks are 28th in rushing yards and 30th in passing yards, which has led to a dismal 10 points per game.
24. Arizona Cardinals
9 of 32After a Week 1 win, the Cardinals have dropped back to back games by a combined margin of four points. Kevin Kolb will need to get back into Week 1 form if the Cardinals want to bounce back.
23. Carolina Panthers
10 of 32Cam Newton dazzled fans the first two weeks of the season with back-to-back 400 yard performances, but his best game of the season may have been his third game of the season in which he only threw for 158 yards, but the key to this game: he got his first win of his career.
22. Denver Broncos
11 of 32The Bronco's first 3 games of the year have all been decided by 3 points or less, which has gotten them to 1-2. This means that they're only a few plays from being 3-0, but at the same time only a few plays away from being 0-3.
21. Cleveland Browns
12 of 32The Browns may be 2-1, but they are going to have to beat better teams than the Colts and Dolphins to move up on this list.
20. Philadelphia Eagles
13 of 32Week 3 is a little early for your quarterback to possibly have a broken hand and be complaining about officiating.
19. Atlanta Falcons
14 of 32The Falcons offense has been strangely inconsistent this season. Roddy White and Matt Ryan looked more in sync in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, but the duo is going to have to pick up the production if this offense wants to get back on track.
18. Chicago Bears
15 of 32The Bears have had quite the schedule over the past two weeks by traveling down to New Orleans to play the Saints followed by taking on the defending Super Bowl Champions at home. The Bears can blame their schedule all they want, but if that offensive line doesn't improve the Bears are in for a very long season.
17. San Francisco 49ers
16 of 32While the 49ers offense has been nothing short of pathetic, their rushing defense has been superb. The 49ers are only allowing 62.7 rushing yards per game through 3 games.
16. Tennessee Titans
17 of 32Losing Kenny Britt for the season will be a huge blow in the Titans passing game which is averaging over 300 yards per game.
15. Tampa Bay Buccanneers
18 of 32Tampa Bay's young quarterback Josh Freeman has struggled to reproduce the success that he had a season ago. After a season in which he only threw 6 interceptions all season, Freeman has thrown 4 in only 3 games.
14. Houston Texans
19 of 32Losing Arian Foster preseason was a huge, devastating blow to the Texans rushing game. Wasn't it? Ben Tate must not think so, as he has filled in admirably by averaging over 100 rushing yards per game through 3 games to start the season.
13. Washington Redskins
20 of 32The 2-0 start to the season was good, but can a team with Rex Grossman as the quarterback really be considered elite?
12. Dallas Cowboys
21 of 32The Cowboys had a big win over the Redskins on Monday Night Football, but their Red Zone offense has seen better days after settling for 6 field goals.
11. New York Giants
22 of 32On Sunday Eli Manning played basically what you could call a perfect game. Manning was unstoppable as he threw for 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
10. New York Jets
23 of 32What happened to the Jets' defense that used to dominate opposing rushing games? The Jets' 136.7 opposing rushing yards per game puts them at 31st in the league.
9. San Diego Chargers
24 of 32Now that he has been given the chance to show the league what he can do while healthy, Ryan Mathews is showing what all the hype was about last season. Mathews is an incredibly tough runner that has incredible burst and acceleration. In Sunday's win over the Chiefs, Mathews ran for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns and also caught 4 passes for 51 yards.
8. Oakland Raiders
25 of 32If the Raiders continue to win, expect running back Darren McFadden to be in consideration for league Most Valuable Player come season's end. McFadden put on a show against the Jets, as he rushed for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns in Sunday's 34-24 win.
7. New Orleans Saints
26 of 32The Saints are one play away against the defending Super Bowl Champions from being 3-0, but have still proven that they are one of the most dangerous offenses in the league. Drew Brees has thrown 3 touchdowns in all 3 games this season and led an explosive 23 point 4th quarter against the Texans that got them to 2-1.
6. Pittsburgh Steelers
27 of 32While the Steelers have bounced back well from a Week 1 thrashing by the Baltimore Ravens, they have a lot of work to do if they want to make it back to the Super Bowl. The Steelers have plenty of offensive line questions and a late touchdown drive given up to Matt Painter and the Colts can't be sitting too well in the Steel City.
5. Baltimore Ravens
28 of 32The Ravens rebounded from a Week 2 loss to the Titans in a big way by beating up on the Rams 37-7. They use a simple, yet effective formula: run the ball and stop the run.
4. New England Patriots
29 of 32Tom Brady rarely throws 4 interceptions in a game, but he unfortunately did that on Sunday. Don't expect this to be a reoccurring scene. Look for Brady to bounce back in a big way against the Raiders in a game that will be quite the shootout.
3. Buffalo Bills
30 of 32If you doubted them before, the Bills are for real. They may not be able to play any sort of defense, but that offense is downright explosive and will keep them in any game they play.
2. Detroit Lions
31 of 32I know it's early, but Randy Moss most be tuning in to watch Calvin Johnson every week to see if his NFL Record 23 Touchdowns in 2008 will have a new owner. Through 3 games, Johnson already has 6 touchdown catches.
1. Green Bay Packers
32 of 32The Packers look like they haven't missed a beat since winning the Super Bowl last February. Expect a heck of a game come Thanksgiving Day when the Packers travel to play the up-and-coming Detroit Lions.
