Beanie Wells Injury: Updates on Cardinals Star's Week 4 Status and Fantasy Value
The Arizona Cardinals have to be getting tired of watching their prized running back Beanie Wells continuously make his way to the sidelines with injury after injury.
After injuring his hamstring in practice leading up to the team’s Week 3 loss, the Cardinals made him inactive for the game and clouded the possibility of him playing next week.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
If Wells is feeling any ill effects from his hamstring injury, he's not showing it so far against the Giants.
The Cardinals are currently trailing the Giants 7-6 late in the second quarter, but Wells has had a strong day on the ground, rushing for 45 yards on 11 carries.
The Giants are driving at the moment, so Wells likely won't have a chance to add to his totals before the end of the half. Still, a pretty good showing so far.
UDPATE: Sunday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. EDT
Beanie Wells was expected to start today, but now it is official.
According to Rotoworld, the Cardinals' lead back will be in the lineup today against the New York Giants.
The Cardinals gave his carries to Alfonso Smith and Chester Taylor a week ago.
Expect Wells to take all he can handle.
UPDATE: Sunday, Oct. 2 at 9:52 a.m. EDT
Beanie Wells has put up solid numbers this year when healthy, but his availability is in question once again.
According to Andrew Bogusch, Wells is expected in the lineup against the Giants today:
As of now, there has been nothing to change our perspective on this.
The Giants were doing a good job against the run this season until running into LeSean McCoy a week ago. That said, he did most of his damage against a front seven more focused on Michael Vick than anything else. The Giants dared Philadelphia to beat them with the run game and it worked out to their advantage.
Big Blue will plan to take away Larry Fitzgerald as best they can, but they'll focus on shutting down any early run game from the Cardinals and then battering Kevin Kolb with blitzes.
If nothing else, Wells is guaranteed to see the football today should he take the field. How productive he will be is another question entirely.
UPDATE: Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2:00 p.m. EDT
Beanie Wells has been injury stricken since he joined the NFL, and now it appears another nagging hamstring injury could affect his season.
Arizona Cardinals writer Darren Urban is reporting on twitter about Wells’ availability for Sunday:
The Arizona Cardinals have shown that they are dedicated to him as their No. 1 running back, but his lack of consistency has management losing patience. You have to sit him on your fantasy bench until he proves he is back to 100 percent.
UPDATE: Friday, Sept. 30 at 4:25 p.m. ET
Michael Fabiano works for NFL.com and the NFL network, and he tweeted the latest on Beanie Wells' status for Sunday against the New York Giants.
Wells thinks he will play, but he thought the same thing a week ago and didn't end up on the field. I wish I could tell you right now whether or not you should start him, but it's obvious you'll have to wait until Sunday just before kick-off to find out if he is active or not.
The Cardinals will battle the Giants this Sunday, and if he is active then put him in. The week off will have helped him, and the Giants aren't as good as years past.
UPDATE: Thursday, Sept. 29 at 5:29 p.m. EDT
According to the Twitter account of Darren Urban, beat writer for the Cardinals, Beanie Wells claims he will be good to go this weekend.
This is certainly good news for fantasy owners who need help at the running back spot, as Wells was quite effective in the first couple games of the season.
UPDATE: Thursday, Sept. 29 at 11:37 a.m. EDT
Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic is reporting that Wells will be hoping to increase his workload throughout the week. He is expected to play, but nothing is a guarantee at this point.
The official website of the Arizona Cardinals confirmed that report with comments from Ken Wisenhunt,
""It's one of those things where you are worried that when he opens it up it may pull and you can feel that little twinge," Whisenhunt said. "Sometimes you can push through that, sometimes you have to be careful with that. It's a balancing act.
"
""He's in a good place right now. We could certainly use him."

UPDATE: Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 10:30 a.m. EDT
Players are generally confident in their ability to play, so take this with a grain of salt, but RotoWorld NFL writer Adam Levitan is reporting that Beanie Wells thinks he is definitely going to be able to play this weekend. Still, you should monitor your fantasy lineups right up until game time.
UPDATE: Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 12:01 p.m. EDT
The Arizona Cardinals have been in a quandary for sometime over how to handle the delicate Beanie Wells, but all signs point to him playing Sunday against the New York Giants.
Arizona Central reporter Craig Morgan is reporting on twitter about the status of the Cardinals backfield for Sunday’s game:
This is a touchy situation and things can change from day-to-day, so if you have him on your fantasy roster make sure you keep your ear to the ground on your eyes here for all the updates you need.
Monday, Sept. 26 at 12:30 p.m. EDT
The Arizona Cardinals need Beanie Wells in the starting lineup to succeed, and the fact that he is constantly injured has to be weighing on the people upstairs in Arizona.
ESPN is reporting about the terrible running back situation in Arizona:
"Wells has a hamstring injury that popped up during the week. Stephens-Howling has a hand injury and was limited in practice all week. Both were listed as questionable on the final injury report. With the duo out, Chester Taylor started at running back for the Cardinals, but second-year player Alfonso Smith took the majority of the carries.
"
If you have Beanie Wells on your fantasy team, you have been bracing for the inevitable injury that would plague his season, and he didn’t want to keep you waiting long. With the uncertainty owners faced this Sunday, it’s hard to tell what next week will bring.
