Michael Vick Injury: Why QB Will Never Be Healthy Playing for Andy Reid's Eagles
Michael Vick is injured again. Seems like we say that every year he isn't in prison, but yes, the Philadelphia Eagles' ridiculously talented quarterback is likely out several weeks with an injured right hand. The question is, will he ever make it through a full 16-game season?
Only once in his nine years in the NFL has Vick actually played a full 16-game schedule. That came in 2006, his final year in Atlanta. Last season, he suffered a rib injury that kept him out for a month and he only managed to play 12 games.
With the way he plays—and the way the Eagles' offensive line has been blocking—you really have to wonder whether or not Vick will ever be able to make it through a full season. In consecutive weeks, the veteran signal-caller has left games with injuries. Last week, it was a concussion; this week, an injured hand.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Frankly, unless he becomes a pocket quarterback, Vick will likely never be able to stay healthy. The problem is, what makes him dangerous is his ability to escape the pocket and make plays with his legs, and that is also what exposes him to danger. He took countless shots in yesterday's 29-16 loss to the New York Giants, and it was only a matter of time before he left the game shaken up.
When the Eagles gave Vick that six-year, $100 million contract, they weren't paying for a guy who would hang in the pocket like a normal NFL quarterback; they were buying a playmaker. Unfortunately, that guy will always be exposed to injury because of his aggressive playing style.
While the 1-2 Eagles and their fans are probably really upset today about their quarterback's injury, they should have seen this coming. With the way he plays the game, there is almost no chance Vick will ever be able to play a full 16-game season.
