NFL Picks Week 3: Quick Picks for All 16 NFL Games
NFL Sunday really comes down to two categories. All the other stats, numbers and other stuff are incidentals.
Wins and losses. That's what matters.
Here are my thoughts on who will win each of this week's games.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills
The Bills have done well so far and are deserving of praise but the fact is they aren't in the Patriots' class yet. I think they can give the Pats a run for their money for about a half but New England just has too many horses. Or more importantly, one Ugg-wearing horse named Brady.
Winner: Patriots
Jacksonville Jaguars at Carolina Panthers
Blaine Gabbert vs. Cam Newton. "Sunshine" vs ''Cam the Sham." Only there won't be much sunshine for Jacksonville and Cam ain't really a sham. While Maurice Jones-Drew will run the ball well, I think the Panthers can do enough on defense to give the Jags and their rookie QB fits.
Winner: Panthers
San Francisco 49ers at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are a bit of a mess and I am still not buying Andy Dalton as a long-term NFL QB, but I'd certainly not buy Alex Smith either and he's been doing it longer.
Add to that some questionable Harbaugh decisions, a defense which disappeared at the end of last week's game and a banged up wide receiver corps and I have to say the Niners aren't looking pretty. As much as Dalton is a question mark for me, I love AJ Green and the other receivers in Cincy. And the defense is a lot better than advertised during the preseason.
Winner: Bengals
Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns
Tough luck to have Peyton Hillis out, but the Cleveland offense brings plenty to the table anyway. Miami, meanwhile, is inconsistent on both sides of the ball and has a question mark for a quarterback.
Winner: Browns
Detroit lions at Minnesota Vikings
On one side: Healthy Stafford, healthy Calvin Johnson, healthy Jahvid Best. Outstanding defense.
On the other side: McNabb. Adrian Peterson. Aging O-line and defense.
Once upon a time, AP might have been enough against the Lions. Not now.
Winner: Lions
Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints
The Texans have the world on a string—or at least the AFC South—and head to Nawlins feeling pretty good about themselves. An improved defense and the usual great offense gives them plenty of reasons to be confident.
The Saints are missing Colston but Drew Brees is still there. Offensively, this team won't miss a beat. Will it be enough? Can Houston get the one big stop?
I think so.
Winner: Texans
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
Vick appears to be playing and while he has a new helmet, I'm a bit nervous with as many hits as he takes. If he can survive the game, I think the Eagles will do a lot of damage to the Giants' secondary, as banged up as it is.
On the other hand, if Eli can be careful with the ball and the Giants can run effectively (and they will), the Giants can have a shot.
Eli? Avoiding mistakes?
Winner: Eagles
Denver Broncos at Tennessee Titans
Matt Hasselbeck has been surprisingly effective so far and Kenny Britt hasn't managed to get suspended yet. On the other hand, where the heck is Chris Johnson? Hold out hangover?
The Broncos can move the ball well but not stop the pass defensively. If the Broncos can get a few key stops, though, this is a game the Broncos should win.
I think they step up this week.
Winner: Broncos
New York Jets at Oakland Raiders
Hot Dog Bowl part 2! The Raiders played well last week but folded under pressure. Defensively this is a good enough team, though the secondary certainly misses Nnamdi Asomugha. Still, they can create pressure, and pressure makes Mark Sanchez make mistakes.
Sanchez had a mediocre at best game last week against a woeful Jacksonville team. Still, the Jets can score and I think they will be able to move the ball on this defense.
Sanchez protects the ball, the Jets win this game. This week I think he does.
Winner: Jets
Kansas City Chiefs at San Diego Chargers
No Jamaal Lewis? Big problem.
This game is the Chargers' the whole way. Too much offense, too much defense, not enough skill on KC's side of the field.
Winner: Chargers
Baltimore Ravens at St Louis Rams
Sam Bradford has played pretty well in year two though his receivers are still not terribly good. He is also without Steven Jackson and Caddy Williams is banged up as well.
The Ravens will kill a one-dimensional offense and that's what this looks like.
Winner: Ravens
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
The Bears are pretty inconsistent this year and they lack both the receivers to overcome even a banged up Packer secondary and the defensive backs to stop the Packers' wide receivers.
Advantage: Packers.
Winner: Packers
Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks aren't all that good, are they? Sorry 'Hawks fans, but Tarvaris Jackson doesn't look like the answer and the offensive line is a mess.
Meanwhile, Kevin Kolb continues to prove me wrong with solid quarterback play and even the run game has been good.
I'm not even sure the awesome crowd in Seattle will save them this week.
Winner: Cardinals
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I want to pick Tampa because I love the young core of players there but we should also consider the emotional win the Falcons squeaked out last week against Vick and the Eagles.
Will they be too drained? Will there be a let down? Will head coach Raheem Morris get his offense moving?
Yes. Yes. And Yes.
Winner: Bucs
Sunday Night Football: Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts
Woof. Sorry NBC, this is a brutal game. Can anything save the Colts on Sunday night? Who knew that when we used to say "Manning is the Colts" that we were being literal?
Winner: Colts
Just kidding. Steelers.
Monday Night Football: Washington Redskins at the Dallas Cowboys
The more I consider this game, the more I think it's going to be very close. Dallas, at home, after the Romo magical healing lung game?
Like the Falcons, could there be a let down? We've got Miles Austin out, Romo, Felix Jones and Jason Witten hurt. It's a mess.
The 'Skins, meanwhile, are healthy and humming along pretty well. It's a huge game for them.
It's almost a coin flip.
But not quite. The Cowboys just have too much talent and I think Dez Bryant has a monster game.
Winner: HOW 'BOUT DEM COWBOYS?
