NFL Picks Week 3: Fresh Picks for All 16 Games
It's a big Week 3 in pro football, and with eight of the 16 games being divisional matchups, that only gives a jolt to the immensity.
Adding to that, seven teams remain undefeated, and six of the seven are on the road, while four are in eight of the key divisional games.
For being this early in the season, Week 3 has a lot at stake.
So, let's get to it. Here are fresh picks for all 16 games.
Games 1-4
1 of 4Houston at New Orleans
Saints are the best 1-1 team in football, while the Texans won two easy games against Indy and Miami.
It's Houston's first real test, and QB Drew Brees keeps rolling.
Saints 34, Texans 24
NY Giants at Philadelphia
A few injury concerns on both sides in this one, but the advantage is to Philly as they are simply just too talented.
QB Mike Vick is limited, and the Eagles defense really steps up against Eli Manning.
Eagles 20, Giants 13
Jacksonville at Carolina
Cam Newton continues his spectacular play, and Maurice Jones-Drew leads all scorers.
However, it's not enough to keep pace with Carolina's flying offense.
Panthers 31, Jaguars 23
New England at Buffalo
Until somebody stops Tom Brady, there's no way the Patriots fall.
Buffalo is a worthy foe and stays in the playoff hunt in 2011, but Brady and company is just too much.
Patriots 35, Bills 28
Games 5-8
2 of 4Miami at Cleveland
The Browns find their niche in a heavy dose of RB Peyton Hillis, whereas Miami has yet to really find their identity.
It's close, but the Cleveland defense plays with a lot of confidence.
Browns 17, Dolphins 14
San Francisco at Cincinnati
The Bengals once again have off the field issues distracting the team, whereas new head coach Jim Harbaugh regains the 49ers' focus after a tough loss.
San Fran's defense steps up big.
49ers 26, Bengals 17
Denver at Tennessee
The Broncos defense has improved, but they won't be 100-percent against Tennessee.
In addition, RB Chris Johnson has his 2011 breakout game for the Titans.
Titans 21, Broncos 16
Detroit at Minnesota
Minnesota starts off strong like they did in games one and two, but the Lions have too much fire-power for the one-dimensional Minnesota offense.
And WR Calvin Megatron Johnson has a field day.
Lions 31, Vikings 17
Games 9-12
3 of 4Baltimore at St. Louis
The Rams have lost two tough games, whereas the Ravens showed us their best and worst in consecutive weeks.
Baltimore is overly talented and gets back on track in St. Louie thanks to RB Ray Rice.
Ravens 34, Rams 14
NY Jets at Oakland
Once again it appears the Raiders will dominate the AFC West, but at the same time will be weak versus other divisions.
New York is once again an AFC title contending team, and they are really playing like it.
Jets 27, Raiders 17
Kansas City at San Diego
The Chiefs simply have too many big injuries to compete with the Chargers.
San Diego is once again slated to be the best in the AFC West, and K.C. is no match.
Chargers 28, Chiefs 10
Arizona at Seattle
The Seahawks have arguably the worst offense in football, while the Cardinals defense has been underachieving.
That said, the Cards offense keeps rolling, while the Seattle defense doesn't match up.
Cardinals 30, Seahawks 20
Games 13-16
4 of 4Atlanta at Tampa Bay
A big game for both teams, but Atlanta is clearly more talented and more confident heading in.
The Bucs have yet to play a full game, as they played a bad second half in Week 1 and a bad first half in Week 2. Plus, the Falcons offense is too fast to keep pace with.
Falcons 34, Buccaneers 21
Green Bay at Chicago
It's a tale of two QBs as Aaron Rodgers continues to dominate, while Jay Cutler continues to be inconsistent.
Poor play versus Green Bay in 2010 comes back to hurt Cutler and the Chicago offense.
Packers 24, Bears 13
Pittsburgh at Indianapolis
Expected to be the blowout of Week 3, Pittsburgh got back to normal in Week 2, whereas Indianapolis is all chaos without Peyton Manning.
The Steel Curtain does not bend one bit.
Steelers 31, Colts 0
Washington at Dallas
Redskins are feeling confident being 2-0, especially with an underrated defense.
Dallas won't be 100-percent, and their lack of ability to play a full game hurts in the end.
Redskins 20, Cowboys 17
