Mario Manningham Injury: Updates on Giants WR's Week 3 Status and Fantasy Value
New York Giants WR Mario Manningham suffered a concussion Week 2, though he didn't want to admit it.
Manningham is highly questionable heading into the road test against the Philadelphia Eagles. The NFL’s policy is that players must pass their concussion tests before participating in practice or games.

Eli Manning and the Giants did not end up missing Mario Manningham (concussion). The Giants beat the Eagles behind Manning's 254 yards and four touchdowns. WR Victor Cruz stepped up with three receptions for 110 yards and two scores.

The Giants are finding ways to make it happen in the passing game without Mario Manningham (concussion). They used Brandon Jacobs out of the backfield for a 40-yard TD.
Eli Manning overthrew Victor Cruz on a deep ball that one would assume Manningham would have caught. Still, Cruz redeemed himself by catching a short pass, breaking tackles and taking it to the house for a 74-yard TD to put the G-Men ahead 14-0 after the first quarter.

It's officially time to panic if you're a Mario Manningham fantasy owner or New York Giants fan. Manningham will not play against Philadelphia and the team brought back WR Michael Clayton to replace him.

Things don't appear to be hopeful in New York anymore. According to ESPN's John Clayton, Manningham is likely to miss this weekend's game with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Manningham has not be cleared yet by doctors, though the Giants are hopeful, according to Giants Gab's Russ Loede.

Manningham's availability Week 3 is very much in doubt after missing practice Thursday, according to Newark Stark-Ledger's Mike Garafolo.

Manningham wasn't cleared to practice Wednesday and isn't cleared to play Week 3 yet, but he did attend all meetings, according to New York Post's Paul Schwartz, which is good news. The Giants won't rush him back, but they are thin at WR with Domenik Hixon (knee) lost for the season.

Manningham did not practice yesterday and though NFL.com hasn't updated his Week 3 status, it is difficult to see him practicing today.

Initial reports indicate that Manningham is expected to play Week 3, according to the Daily News’ Ralph Vacchiano.

But according to the Giants, Manningham didn't pass the medical concussion tests in the locker room, so he wasn't allowed to come back out to play.
The initial reports on both players were that they expect to be available for the Giants' big game in Philadelphia on Sunday. However, with a short week, their availability remains to be seen.”
