Brad Pitt Shocks Baseball World with Sports Illustrated Confession
Brad Pitt never ceases to amaze, and shocked the baseball world with his jaw-dropping Sports Illustrated confession.
The 47-year-old actor has seemingly done it all, but he has taken his talents to the diamond in his latest movie Moneyball, which sees him play the role of Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane.
Pitt is gracing the newest cover of SI as one of the few non-athletes to ever do so. Just chalk that up on that long laundry list of his accomplishments.

One would think a man playing the lead role in a baseball movie, especially as a GM, would have extensive knowledge of the sport. Guess again.
"'It’s shameful how little I know about baseball…I’m amazed they let me do this movie…Baseball and I didn’t get along that well. I wrestled one year [in high school]. I dove one year. Everything but baseball,’ according to Just Jared’s Staff per SI's Austin Murphy.

Eyes squinted…eyebrow raised…
That’s right, you read that correctly. The star of the movie playing the most important role doesn’t really know a lick about baseball. Go figure.
Such is the beauty of movie-making. Give the man a script and let him work his magic.
Pitt doesn’t need to know the ins-and-outs of baseball. He may not need to know the ins-and-outs of anything in life, for that matter.
That’s the joy of watching a man perform his craft. That’s why Pitt is one of the better actors to ever grace the silver screen. There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that he can pull off such a role.
Let’s be honest, you know you want to see Moneyball. Now, you want to see it even more because of his stunning confession.
How did he pull it off? you must be asking yourself.
If you’ve seen the previews this summer, you already know he did a masterful job. I, for one, haven’t been this excited for a sports movie in a long time. Only the Baseball Gods might know how long.
The movie opens this Friday, September 23, and I can’t wait to see it. I couldn’t get enough of the trailer when I first saw it in June. Now, I need to see it in its entirety.
Pitt didn't need to know everything about baseball to achieve his goal of creating a phenomenal movie. This one looks like it should be up there with the greatest sports movies of our time. If you don't get chills watching the preview, there's something wrong with you as a sports fan.
