Michael Vick Injury: Updates on Eagles Star's Week 3 Status
The “Dream Team” has officially taken the biggest hit possible, as the $100 million man Michael Vick is highly questionable to play Week 3 when the Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants for their home opener.
Vick suffered a concussion in the 35-31 Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The NFL is not taking concussions lightly and the Eagles won’t risk their superstar QB with Super Bowl aspirations on the line. Vick will need to pass extensive concussion tests to play.

The team has since announced that Vick was cleared by an independent neurosurgeon to do so.
But that doesn’t mean Vick has been cleared to play on Sunday against the Giants. Team spokesman Derek Boyko tells PFT that it’s a 'constant ongoing process.'
At this point, there’s no reason to think Vick won’t be cleared to play. But being cleared to take part in football activities in which quarterbacks aren’t supposed to ever be hit is a different proposition than being cleared to play in a game."

In preparation to play Sunday and prevent further concussions, Michael Vick is getting fitted for a new helmet that includes concussion reduction technology, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.
""In order to help protect against future concussions, Vick is planning to refit his helmet with Kevlar padding, the CEO of Unequaled Technologies told Paolantonio on Wednesday.
Rob Vito told Paolantonio that he will meet with Vick in Philadelphia on Friday to refit his helmet to help Vick deal with the post-concussive blows to the head in Sunday's home opener against the Giants. 'The 100-year-old foam everybody is using in helmets is antiquated,' Vito said. 'Concussions are the injury of our age and really they should not be happening anymore.'

For now, Vick has been green-lighted for exertion tests, including riding a bike, lifting and balance work. His status for Sunday, however, will likely be a game-time decision.
'I’m not real worried about him playing right now,' [trainer Rick] Burkholder said. 'I’m worried about the process that he’s going through, and as we go through each step I’ll report to the people that need to know, and then we’ll make a decision.'”
