Warren Sapp Buries Pittsburgh Steelers Way Too Soon

Tom EdringtonJun 5, 2018

Apparently they're sending a surgical team to the set of Inside The NFL.

They need to perform an emergency procedure to remove Warren's Sapp's shoe that is embedded somewhere in that big mouth of his.

Unless you're living under a rock somewhere, and maybe about now Sapp would like to hide behind one, you'll remember that the Baron of Blubber declared this past week that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "old, slow and it's over."

Now here you've got Sapp, who was a miserable curr to the media during his Tampa Bay Buccaneer days, and a member of the MSM—that's Mainstream Media for those of us who are not in that elite company.

You've got Sapp, the Prince of Pizza, declaring a venerable organization DOA after Week 1 of play in your National Football League.

Not even the newest of newbies, the dumbest of the dumb or someone who has been living under a rock, would go and do something like that.

But there's Sapp, Tampa Bay's venerable "Fatso" during those wonderful Buccaneer years, doing just that and with his extraordinary credentials, guys like this are supposed to be more elite than most media stiffs, you know because of that old argument that he "played the game" which makes him the consummate expert.

Sure, Sapp's been around a bit, but so has Steeler defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, who is certainly old and accomplished enough to be termed "venerable."

The venerable LeBeau simply declared this past week, "I wouldn't kick dirt on us. We'll be back."

Well, someone needs to tell Fatso, er, Sapp, that the Steelers indeed were back on Sunday, they simply took the Seattle Seahawks and shut them out.

Yes, that's shutout, as in zip, zilch, nada, no touchdowns, no field goals, no points, no nothing, fly back to Seattle and hope the fans spent the afternoon doing something else besides watching the game.

Big Ben Roethlisberger had a pretty good day, 22-for-30, 298 yards and a touchdown. Sorry Sapp, but that guy's neither old nor slow nor hardly over.

Hines Ward caught four passes for 33 yards. Not a great day, but if you listen to Sapp, his teenage daughter would have shut Ward down, so maybe the Seahawks should sign her.

So who should we believe on this?

Warren Sapp, who certainly is old, slow and yes, his career is over.

Or Dick LeBeau, whose defense pitched a shutout.

Now mind you, this is the same Sapp who used to tell media members that they were clueless, that they had no idea what they were talking about when it came to football.

Perhaps it's simple justice in life that Sapp has become one of those he used to abuse.

Perhaps he might want to re-think this early burial of the Steelers.

At the very least, he should spend some time recovering this week from that shoe-dectomy that he's undergoing.
