Sam Bradford Injury Update: How Is Rams Star's Right Finger?
Of all the terrible things that could happen to the St. Louis Rams, a serious injury to franchise quarterback Sam Bradford is at the top. And it's not even close.
Unfortunately for the Rams, it looked for a while on Sunday that such a nightmare was actually coming true. During the team's 31-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Bradford injured a finger on his throwing hand when he made contact with an oncoming pass rusher on his follow through. He had to leave the game, and immediately went for X-rays.
It's been nearly 24 hours since Bradford hurt his finger. Luckily for the Rams (and their fans), the news is good.

Injury Update
According to the Rams' official Twitter feed, Bradford's right index finger is merely bruised. There's "no nerve damage, nothing broken."
In other words, it's not a serious injury. Painful maybe, but it shouldn't rob Bradford of any additional playing time.
When's He Ready to Return
The Rams noted on Twitter that Bradford is going to be monitored this week, but the word from ESPN's Adam Schefter (also via Twitter) is that the team expects him to play on Monday night at the New York Giants.
In fact, it should be noted that the Rams are lucky that they don't have to play again until Monday, as that gives Bradford a whole extra day to heal up.
What They're Saying
Before the good news about Bradford's injury came out, Bryan Burwell of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch wrote a column about how Rams fans were going to play a "nervous waiting game."
As far as Burwell was concerned, the very sight of Bradford trying to throw a football after he was hurt was painful to behold:
"When I heard Bradford describe how he couldn't feel his finger pressing on the football, how he tried to throw a few warm-up tosses on the sideline and said, "I couldn't get much pressure (on the ball as he squeezed his fingers on it)," that didn't sound good. And it didn't look any better, either. As he stood on the sideline during a timeout trying to see if he would regain feeling in that finger, you could tell right away something was wrong.
"
Burwell was right, something was wrong. Thankfully, it sounds like it's not going to be very long before Bradford is right as rain once again.
