NFL Power Rankings 2011: 4 Teams Who Will Take Biggest Rankings Tumble This Week

David DanielsJun 7, 2018

Overrated. No word in the dictionary fires up sports fans more if that’s what their favorite team is accused of being.

The following four teams, though, are overrated compared to where they’ll be ranked in next week’s power rankings:

4. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles won’t actually lose to the St. Louis Rams, but they won’t blow them out, either.

St. Louis is legit; they added Quintin Mikell, Harvey Dahl, Mike Sims-Walker, Cadillac Williams, Robert Quinn, Lance Kendricks and more impact players this offseason.  They are virtually a lock to win the NFC West.

For the Eagles, their offensive line is on shuffle right now after releasing Ryan Harris and signing Kyle DeVan.  Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson had tough preseasons and Jeremy Maclin and Steve Smith won’t be 100 percent even if they play in Week 1.

Philadelphia will get the victory, but it’ll be an ugly victory.

3. Chicago Bears

The Bears' great offseason has looked like anything but this preseason.

Marion Barber and Amobi Okoye had their moments, but Roy Williams and Vernon Gholston looked horrible.  Their offensive line was up and down, but in regular-season action, they’ll become consistently poor again.

The Atlanta Falcons pass rush of Ray Edwards and John Abraham will make sure of that in Week 1.  Chicago doesn’t have the offensive weapons to keep pace with Matt Ryan, Roddy White and Julio Jones.

2. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts will get absolutely slaughtered by the Texans without Peyton Manning

Sure, Houston should be without Arian Foster, but it’s a far bigger drop off from Manning to Kerry Collins than from Foster to Ben Tate/Derrick Ward.

Indianapolis just doesn’t have the defense to stick with Houston.  I bet Indy wishes they took one last shot at Bob Sanders now.

1. Dallas Cowboys

For some odd reason, experts believe that the Dallas Cowboys are capable of making the playoffs.  This is pretty much the same Cowboys team that fielded one of the most exposed secondaries in the entire league in 2010.

The return of Tony Romo won’t flip the switch for Dallas.  Last season, the Cowboys were 1-5 with Romo in the starting lineup and 5-5 without him.

Rex Ryan will have plenty to talk about after smoking his brother’s squad.
