Madden 12 Ratings: The 4 Most Explosive Offenses in This Year's Game

Cian FaheyJun 4, 2018

Madden 12 is finally here! Madden of course lets every football live out their fantasies of actually featuring in an NFL game in some form or fashion.

For most people those fantasies take place on the offensive side of the football and this year's Madden offers plenty of ways to rack up the points and win games without even looking at the defensive side of the football!

Here are the 4 most explosive offenses in Madden 12.

*If I was ever going to choose an image for a slide about the most explosive anything in NFL, Barry Sanders and Deion Sanders would have to be in that image!

4. San Diego Chargers

1 of 4

The Chargers' pair of running backs may not be up to much this year as Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews both check in at 77 overall.

However with a 99 overall tight end in Antonio Gates and a group of rangy receivers that always excel in Madden, Philip Rivers will be putting up an MVP performance every time you turn on the game.

Malcom Floyd's 80 overall rating is misguided as his height will allow him to play more like an 85 or 86 while Vincent Jackson should be stellar with his 87 overall.

Rivers oddly only has a 90 for arm strength but that is enough to show off his 93 deep accuracy, which is simply immense! The Chargers offense will repeatedly be taking off big chunks of yardage in the new Madden.

3. New England Patriots

2 of 4

The Patriots don't actually have the most explosive skill position players on Madden but for two reasons they will be unstoppable.

With Tom Brady being a 99 overall quarterback, he could have Limas Sweed and Darius Reynaud (who?...exactly!) outside him to throw passes to and he would put points on the board.

The other thing is that the Patriots have the best playbook in Madden year in and year out. Having spent countless hours (self-confessed college student) mixing and matching with different franchises and rosters on Madden over the years, the Patriots always get the most done with the least talent.

The fact is that the drag route is the most difficult route in Madden to stop, and the Patriots feature plenty it. Brady's instant release prevents blitzers from beating the offensive line to him, and most of the plays spread the field to the point that Brady never has to hold onto the ball.

Throw in the fact that the team has two elite tight ends and a decent running back corps and I don't see how anyone will stop this team on this year's version of Madden!

2. Green Bay Packers

3 of 4

With a reigning Super Bowl MVP on the roster, the Packers were always going to make this list.

Aaron Rodgers doesn't disappoint with a 98 overall rating. He is complemented with one of the deepest receiving corps in the league. Greg Jennings leads the group with a 93 rating and Jermichael Finley is a 90 overall tight end, but there is quality in depth all the way down to Randall Cobb who can still make plays with his 70 overall.

Ryan Grant's return to the backfield gives the team a strong running game also with his 82 overall, while the offensive line is slightly overrated compared to real life as not one single starter will be below an 80 overall rating.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

4 of 4

The one wonderful thing about Madden is a little option when you enter franchise mode that allows you to remove any pre-existing injuries.

This will drastically aid the Philadelphia Eagles offense as right tackle Ryan Harris and more importantly slot receiver Steve Smith will be available from the off.

Smith is a great addition to the Eagles and will be the perfect complement to the deep threat of DeSean Jackson and playmaking of Jeremy Maclin in the new Madden. Smith will be able to grab short slants and drag routes from Michael Vick and turn them into huge gains while defenses try to figure out the other receivers.

With Michael Vick's arm strength of 96 and Jackson's speed of 99 you can always hit him with the deep ball over the top. Vick alone is a great option in Madden as he will be able to treat NFL defenses as if he was still in college as a dual-threat option.

Of course you talk about all that explosion in the receiving corps and quarterback, then somehow have to figure out how to deal with LeSean McCoy coming out of the backfield also.

This offense is going to be the most explosive in the league on Madden and probably in real life too.
