Is Lamar Odom Worthy of an All-Star Game Appearance?
The sixth man.
A championship-worthy team is never complete without one.
For the Heat, it's Mike Miller. For the Celtics, it's Jeff Green. For the Mavericks, it's Jason Terry.
For the Lakers, it's Lamar Odom.
Lamar Odom has played a key role in the Lakers' last two championship victories. He provided leadership off a deep Lakers bench. He was also a part of the Lakers' big man rotation with Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.
He is not only one of the league's best sixth men, but he is also one of the league's most versatile players.
He can literally play every position on the court.
At power forward and center, he uses his length to snag rebounds. At small forward and shooting guard, he can shoot, slash, and just flat-out put points on the board. At point guard, he can dish out passes.
He can do it all on both sides of the court.
One thing about Lamar Odom, though, is his All-Star game snubbed career.
He is always on the ballot, but because of players such as Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin and fellow teammate Pau Gasol, he has never been included on the Western Conference roster.
So one has to wonder, should he play in an All-Star game?
In my opinion, the answer is yes.
He is an extremely gifted basketball player, and if coaches end up choosing the rosters entirely, Lamar Odom should be on the final roster.
