Eagles vs. Steelers: Is Michael Vick or Ben Roethlisberger the Game's Best QB?
When the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers face off in Thursday night's preseason matchup, two very good quarterbacks will be on display, at least for a little while.
Though Michael Vick and Ben Roethlisberger won't play the whole game, they should get some significant playing time (Andy Reid has said Eagle starters will play the entire first half).
That will give fans a close look at the two electric QBs.

But, who is the better player: Roethlisberger or Vick?
When it comes to Super Bowls and playoff wins, Roethlisberger is the winner, hands down. Big Ben has two Super Bowl rings and has appeared in three Super Bowls total. Meanwhile, Michael Vick has no rings and has never been to the Super Bowl.
But, there are plenty of things Vick brings to the table that Roethlisberger doesn't.
The No. 1 thing is running ability.
While Big Ben is no slouch at avoiding pressure and making plays with his feet, Vick is simply the best in the business. Vick can run, then run again, then run some more and completely change the outcome of a game.
To compare, Big Ben's career high in rushing yards is 204, which he had in 2007. In 2006, Vick rushed for a whopping 1,039 yards. That's an amazing total for a quarterback, and Roethlisberger could never come close to that production.
Last year, Vick ran for 676 yards on 100 carries. Big Ben only ran for 176 yards on 34 carries.
But, sometimes Vick's running leads to other issues.
When it comes to durability, Roethlisberger wins that debate. Big Ben has a history of playing through injuries. Whether it's a broken nose or a hurt ankle, you can't get him off the field.
Vick is also a very tough QB, but he's missed a lot more games than Roethlisberger due to injury.
Now, when we take a look at the No. 1 measure of a quarterback, Big Ben is once again the clear winner.
In 98 career games, Vick has only thrown for 14,609 yards. He only has one season with more than 3,000 passing yards and his career high is 21 touchdown passes.
In 99 career games, Roethlisberger has thrown for 22,502 yards. He has five seasons of more than 3,000 passing yards, including one season with more than 4,000 passing yards, and his career high is 32 touchdown passes.
So, as far as who is the better quarterback, it is clear that the award goes to Roethlisberger. While Vick is certainly a very good quarterback, he simply doesn't have the tools or the track record of a guy like Big Ben.
