NFL Preview: Possibilities of a Pennsylvania Super Bowl
There are three states (California, New York and Florida) that have three NFL franchises. There are another four states (Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania and Missouri) that have at least two NFL teams. Of these seven states, one of them has a serious shot at making history this year.
The state of Pennsylvania might not be the number one destination spot for vacationing, but it is rich in United States history, as well as football history. The Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers are two of the more prestigious organizations in football today. The Eagles have some cool and interesting traditions, as well as a dedicated fan base. The Steelers can say the same about their loyal fans, and no team has won as many Super Bowls as they have.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This situation is very unique, because not only are both of these teams very good, they are both projected as teams that can contend for the Super Bowl this year. What makes this even more interesting is that they are in separate conferences, which means they could actually both play in the big game.
The Steelers are always expected to be one of the best teams in the league. They always have one of the best defenses, and they are an extremely well run organization from top to bottom. They know what they are doing in Pittsburgh, and it works. They have virtually the same team that made it to last year's Super Bowl, so picking them to make it again this year is no stretch at all.
The Eagles have been working on their roster ever since the lockout ended in July. They landed prize free-agent corner Nnamdi Asomugha, and dealt their backup quarterback for another corner, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. In addition to that, they landed defensive end Jason Babin, running back Ronnie Brown and quarterback Vince Young. They have already been deemed the "dream team" of the NFL by many people. While they now have a big target on their back, it is understandable why.
The expectations for both of these teams is very high entering this season. You could easily say these two are the favorites for each conference to reach Indianapolis in February. As much as I would like to see my hometown Colts play the first "home game" Super Bowl, I think this would be very interesting to watch. The state would be divided and the ultimate bragging rights would be on the line.
It's difficult to pick out a weak spot on these two teams. If I had to choose one though, i would say the Eagles need help at linebacker, and the Steelers could use more help in the secondary. That being said, they are both pretty much set at every other position on the field.
Seeing one state represented by both teams in the Super Bowl would be something truly special. The odds of that happening are very slim, considering what has to happen. Not only do two teams have to be in different conferences, but they both must be good enough to make it all the way to the big game. You won't see this in Ohio, Missouri, California, Florida and probably not even Texas. We nearly had an all-New York Super Bowl a few years ago, but that is as close as we have come.
As though the Super Bowl would need any more story lines to get people excited for it, this would truly be one for the ages, and I think people in Pennsylvania would agree.
