San Francisco Giants' New Additions Step Up, Power Giants to Victory
Jeff Keppinger, Carlos Beltran and Orlando Cabrera had hardly done anything for the Giants.
Since their acquisitions, mainly to replace big bats and fill holes, the three new players have failed to make an impact.
Until now.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Cabrera had three RBI, Beltran had two runs and one RBI and Keppinger had a run as the Giants beat the D-Backs 8-1 and reclaimed the NL West lead.
Ryan Vogelsong went six-plus innings and lowered his ERA to 2.19 while improving his record to 9-1. Jason Marquis took the loss in his Diamondbacks debut.
Brad Ziegler made his Arizona debut, and he gave up a two-run double on his first pitch with his new club. Cody Ross hit that double, knocking in three runs.
San Francisco snapped a five-game slide with the win, regaining first place. San Francisco now heads into series with Philadelphia and then Pittsburgh.
In his debut, Marquis gave up eight runs in four-plus innings—not the way you want to start with your new team. Zach Duke and Ziegler came in and did well, but the Giants pen was better.
Guillermo Mota came on with runners on first and second and he struck out three batters, using his nasty slider and changeup to retire Willie Bloomquist, Collin Cowgill and Justin Upton.
In the eighth, Mota walked two batters but struck out three, and Javier Lopez and Sergio Romo finished it out for the Giants.
Promising young D-Backs Collin Cowgill, Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Ransom started for Arizona. Goldschmidt, who hit his first-career home run against Tim Lincecum last night, is very promising, and D-Backs fans hope he can become the next Buster Posey.
Arizona heads into a series with Los Angeles next, while Philadelphia and San Francisco start a four-game series in San Francisco tonight.
