WWE: Why Don't These Wrestlers Have a World Title in Their Hands?
Take away John Cena and Randy Orton.
As strange as it may seem, there are others in the WWE Universe that could or rather, should be a world champion and carry that title with pride.
For years, Hulk Hogan carried the WWE on his back and turned back competitor after competitor. The decision by Vince McMahon was to make Hogan, who in my opinion was not as accomplished as others in WWE at that time like Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat) the brunt of everything good and bad within the company.
Now, with cable expansion, the Internet and more attention to the rumblings and grumblings of professional wrestling, there is a need for more champions, more promotion and more celebrity.
These men, who have or have not held gold before in the WWE, deserve a chance to strap the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Title around their waist.
Evan Bourne
1 of 10Shooting Star Press. That is all you need to know.
Actually, Bourne is as close to the best high flyer the WWE has had since Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit.
He is growing in his potential and his craft against some of the best. His recent battles with Jack Swagger have put him in position to possibly challenge for the Intercontinental Title or even loftier goals is everything falls into place.
Would love to see him battle Kofi Kingston.
Sheamus
2 of 10He has not stopped since coming to WWE from CWF.
Big, strong and the whitest man you will ever see in the ring, Sheamus runs through people and fears no one.
His current three-way battle with Randy Orton and Christian shows he is top-tier material and when he has captured World title gold, he steps up and challenges all comers.
John Morrison
3 of 10When he comes back from injury, the future champion should challenge R-Truth again, which may put him right in the thick of the world title situation.
His high-risk moves and athleticism make him is the closest thing we have to Shawn Michaels today.
Look for him to capture world gold at some point.
Cody Rhodes
4 of 10His gimmick, although I am not a fan, is impressive and gains in popularity.
He has really stepped up his game and his work in the past few months.
Right now, he is ahead of the curve and is helping Ted DiBiase become a better in-ring performer.
He would do his daddy proud if he captured the WWE World Title.
Alberto Del Rio
5 of 10I thought he would be champion by now.
Del Rio was the favorite son of WWE, and now he is feuding with Big Show.
The style and flamboyance is that of a Hispanic Ric Flair. The wrestling is that of a bruising, younger Terry Funk.
If he does not hold WWE gold soon, a great injustice will be served.
R-Truth
6 of 10No one has done more to improve his stock in the past two months.
Truth is flamboyant, aggressive and great.
The gimmick works. And now, he must channel his energy to becoming what he broke all the rules to accomplish.
Christian
7 of 10If he can concentrate and wrestle, he can be champion again.
He looks too worried about what else happens in the ring other than defeating his opponent. He is also severely obsessed with beating Randy Orton, which could become his downfall.
If he plays his role right and focuses on what's in front of him, he will garner the gold.
Dolph Ziggler
8 of 10The US Championship is nice, but a world title would be better.
Ziggler is the most underrated player in the game. And he knows it.
Strong, athletic and full of confidence. He is a young Randy Savage and Roddy Piper.
Give him a little time and he will win the world title...and then may never give it back.
CM Punk
9 of 10If he leaves with the title, it screams, Bret Hart.
Punk is a great in-ring general. An Arn Anderson of sorts but with better talent and mic skills.
I love the fact he moves straight forward. The Nexus angle is a little stale, but Punk has more going for him than being leader of the band.
I would love to see him in a storyline with Christian.
Daniel Bryan
10 of 10No one is better right now.
He is the new Chris Benoit and yes, that is a compliment.
A great ground game to go along with tremendous athleticism, Bryan is the next big thing. He may be smaller than former champions, but he is as talented if not more than they were.
Here is one fan hoping the establishment does not keep him down.
