NBA Draft 2011: Kemba Walker and 5 Best Options for the Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have had very good luck finding talented players in the past few NBA Drafts. They are hoping to find the same type of luck this year in the 2011 Draft.
Sitting at the seventh pick, the Kings should have plenty of good options when they are on the clock. The most likely selections for Sacramento will be either a point guard or a small forward, as they currently have a lack of star power at both positions.
The Kings are one of the more intriguing teams in this year's draft, and here are five guys who would be great fits in Sacramento.
5. Chris Singleton, SF, Florida State

The Kings need an upgrade at small forward, and at the seventh overall pick there should be plenty of talent available. Although the seventh pick maybe a little bit early for Chris Singleton to come off the board, he would be an excellent fit in Sacramento.
Singleton’s length and athleticism would immediately improve the Kings’ defense, which has been weak in recent years. Luckily for the Kings, they should still have some salary cap space to use to fill other holes in free agency.
4. Jordan Hamilton, SF, Texas

If Sacramento is looking for scoring and their primary options are off the board, Jordan Hamilton could be the pick for the Kings. Neither Omri Casspi nor Donte Greene have solidified themselves as the Kings’ small forward of the future, so Hamilton could make sense at No. 7.
Hamilton is a naturally gifted scorer with aggressive instincts that would work well in Sacramento’s offense. Despite the fact that Hamilton had a sub-par season at Texas, his talent on the offensive end is undeniable.
3. Jimmer Fredette, PG, BYU

It is no secret that the Kings need a point guard, now that they’ve realized Tyreke Evans shouldn’t be the primary ball-handler. The owners in Sacramento, the Maloof brothers, love Jimmer Fredette and think his shooting stroke would mesh well with Tyreke’s slashing ability.
The Kings would love to leave this draft with their point guard of the future, but Fredette will need to work on his passing if he is going to reach his full potential. Although there may be players on the board at No. 7 with more potential, few are as naturally gifted offensively as Fredette.
2. Kemba Walker, PG, UConn
4 of 5
It seems like ever since Kemba Walker announced he would enter the draft, his name has been connected to the Sacramento Kings. Walker and the Kings seem to be a perfect fit, with Sacramento’s need at point guard and Walker being projected to go in the middle of the lottery.
Although the Kings would prefer a pass-first point guard, Walker would be very hard to pass up if still available at No. 7. He is one of the best finishers in the 2011 draft class, and would make a scary backcourt tandem with Tyreke Evans.
1. Kawhi Leonard, SF, San Diego State
5 of 5
There is a very good chance that when the Kings select at No. 7, Kawhi Leonard will have already been taken. If not, they will be hard pressed to pass on him.
Leonard would immediately fill one of Sacramento’s major needs at small forward. For his height, Leonard is an outstanding rebounder, mostly because of his insane length and leaping ability.
If Leonard does fall to the Kings, they will have the tough decision of either drafting Leonard or the best point guard available.
